UPDATE: Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has visited Malam Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, his wife, Nafisah, and their daughter, Fatima, at the Kaduna State Government safe house, where they are receiving continued medical care following their discharge from hospital after regaining their freedom.

The Governor expressed optimism about their full recovery and pledged to provide the family with a house, cover all medical expenses and ensure sustained psychosocial care. He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and security agencies for their roles in securing the family’s release, reaffirming his commitment to tackling insecurity.

KAKURI (SOUTHERN) BUS TERMINAL: PROJECT NOW OVER 90% COMPLETE

Under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, construction of the Kakuri Bus Terminal, also known as the Southern Terminal, has reached over 90% completion, with all major structures completed and work progressing on the internal road network.

The terminal comprises four terminals designed to serve commuters and transport unions, alongside a motel, restaurants, shops, fire service station, administrative offices, convenience rooms and other supporting facilities to improve service delivery.

The project adds to the Kaduna Inter-State Bus Terminal in Millennium City and the Sobawa Terminal in Rigachikun, expanding modern transport infrastructure across key locations and improving the organisation of passenger movement. The Kakuri Terminal is being built by Standwell Structures Nigeria Limited.

UNDER UBA SANI, KADUNA TOPS 2026 TRANSPARENCY INDEX

Kaduna State has emerged as Nigeria’s highest-ranked state in the 2026 Transparency and Integrity Index, scoring 54.68%; the highest score among all 36 states.

The ranking by the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI) reflects the impact of Governor Uba Sani’s people-centred leadership and commitment to transparent, accountable and responsive governance. His administration’s focus on openness, responsible management of public resources, citizen engagement and inclusive development continues to strengthen trust between government and the people.

The index assessed states across five key areas: fiscal transparency, open procurement, human resources and inclusion, control of corruption, and citizens’ engagement. Kaduna’s score placed it ahead of Osun (50.54%) and Kwara (48.19%), with only three states recording scores of 45% or higher.

Kaduna’s leading position further highlights the administration’s efforts to build a government where transparency, accountability and service to the people remain central to governance.

Quality education starts with getting children into safe, functional and conducive learning environments.

The ongoing supervision of school construction and renovation projects across Kaduna State under Governor Uba Sani reflects a deliberate effort to tackle the out-of-school challenge from the ground up.

With 102 new schools under construction and 170 schools undergoing renovation across the 23 LGAs, the focus is clear: expand access, improve learning conditions and ensure no child is left behind.

The reported reduction in out-of-school children from approximately 550,000 to 187,720 within two years is significant. The next target is even clearer — zero out-of-school children in Kaduna State.

That is the kind of investment in human capital that should matter to all of us.
