"The annually averaged global mean near-surface temperature for each year between 2025 and 2029 is predicted to be between 1.2°C and 1.9°C higher than the average over the years 1850-1900...with 86% chance that at least one year more than 1.5°C above the pre-industrial level".
The WMO Global Annual to Decadal Climate Update (2025–2029) projects that global temperatures are expected to continue at or near record levels in the next five years.

Wow — the red blob in the Atlantic is back.
Sea surface temps are ~5°C above average west of Ireland and in around Iceland — the warmest ever recorded that far north. The tides are turning — and they’re getting hotter.

The only way she felt she could set herself free:
Arezoo Khavari, 16, tragically took her own life yesterday after enduring relentless harassment for not complying with the compulsory Hijab. No girl should have to choose between freedom and life.
Her pain echoes the silent screams of many!
We will share her story and fight for justice.💔

🚨 BREAKING- We are witnessing one of the most powerful revolutions in history.
Ahoo Daryaei (آهو_دریایی), a courageous student at Tehran’s Science and Research University removed her clothes on campus in a fearless act of defiance after enduring harassment and assault by security forces enforcing mandatory hijab.
Her bravery speaks for countless women who refuse to sit silently as their dignity and rights are trampled by a repressive system.
We are gravely concerned for her safety- her fate remains unknown, and fears are rising. Share her story.

Cannes, south of France, this morning, home of the iconic film festival. Ive run out of words to adequately express how badly the media continues to fail us
Sorry to sound like a broken record. This is not a new normal. It's something that will get worse as temperatures rise further. The only way not to make things worse is to stop using fossil fuels *globally* starting from the richest & halt deforestation . https://t.co/oRGQcWXF21
In Italy Rivers have flooded in Emilia Romagna, especially in Ravenna, Forlì, and Bologna, prompting evacuations and red weather alerts. Mayors urged residents to stay on upper floors or leave their homes.
Around 800 people in Ravenna and 200 in Bologna spent the night in shelters. The Lamone, Marzeno, and Senio rivers overflowed, causing severe flooding. Some were rescued by dinghy or helicopter. Schools, offices, and shops have been closed in affected areas, including parts of Marche and Tuscany.
