@F1Help@kijewski_ I'm getting this exact problem too. I fear many more people will be calling up support in the next two days if it doesn't get addressed.
@EasyEquities@CharlesHSavage Is adding LSE on the cards still? Would be huge for those who want to avoid US estate duty, assuming Irish domiciled ETFs are available.
I'll drop my feedback here too: The container runs a non-root user but still depends on running with the root group. Could we instead have a dedicated user and group so that the container has no permissions to the root filesystem. ๐๐ผ
@JustOneLap@SimonPB Iโd like to pick your brain. Would holding a total return bond ETF for 6 to 12 months to preserve capital constitute capital gains or income tax? Intention is not to trade but to protect since cash is becoming unfavorable.
@finweek@SimonPB@PSGWealth@SchalkLouw โFor example, are exchange rates likely to affect the cost of running your motor vehicle and do you travel overseas regularly?โ
Who divests their offshore investments to service their car or go on holiday?!
@TravelBugBitten Thanks. ๐๐ผ Iโm assuming you fill out the tax credits as how much you were taxed on the foreign dividends - something that should be on the tax certificate?
Hey @TravelBugBitten. Really appreciate you sharing your offshore investing journey โฐ๏ธ and research ๐ that went into it.
Wondering if you have any details on the process of declaring foreign dividends, and more specifically the tax credits?
I have owned $STXWDM via @EasyEquities for 1+ years. It's a total return ETF, in which we should track the "phantom" distributions to adjust the base cost. I cannot find any indication distributions made in statements / tx history. What do we do? @Nerina_Visser cc: @JustOneLap
@SimonPB@kristiavh Unfortunately not in the MDD or SENS. $STXWDM MDD just mentions it does not distribute. Searched public SENS and just see โadditional listingโ and delistings, no distributions.
@kristiavh@SimonPB Ah yes, I know I'll be on the hook for that - but I'm more worried about how to actually know when a "distribution" took place since they don't show up on any statements I've gone through as a normal dividend would. ๐
