You are missing the point. Athletes appear on podcasts and speak as if their multi million dollar contracts are not substantial. Yet they are. In most cases, like this one, the issue stems from a lack of discipline around investing wisely or bringing on a financial advisor. I understand they face higher taxes. Someone earning $100k takes home roughly $70k after taxes. The reality is that responsible adults accept that millionaires pay significant taxes. There is no need to explain what they actually earn. What does spark curiosity is an honest explanation of why they failed to invest their earnings wisely.
