@GaryMarcus Fair enough. But do we really know that current architectures are the end of the story? Perhaps they are only the beginning of something else they may unlock. What exactly that is, nobody knows, but I find it too early to treat the whole direction as already settled and dead end.

@GaryMarcus Maybe we humans are more probabilistic than we like to admit. In that sense, perhaps current generative AI systems are not as alien as we think, they may be a rough technological echo of something already present in God’s architecture!🤣

@GaryMarcus There is certainly a lot of hype around generative AI, but it has still been one of the most interesting technological leaps we have seen in generations. I also don’t think we are in a position to make confident, dismissive judgements about where it may eventually lead.

@GaryMarcus Fair criticism is healthy, and some of @sama's record deserves scrutiny. But maybe we’ve become too quick to give up on other human beings. Accountability is important, but so is leaving some room for people to change, repair trust, and do better.
