"The sun ages your skin"
"UV is bad. Sunglasses and sunscreen good"
We've heard every single doctor and mainstream health influencer parrot this repeatedly
But is it true, or is it the ultimate mass-gaslight of all time? Let's find out!
First, forget everything you think you know, and put your thinking cap on.
I have a few questions:
If UV light ages the skin, why are skin cancers and premature aging on the rise while we're more sun-avoidant than ever?

We're getting the exact opposite of what you'd expect.
Did any hunter-gatherer society need sunscreen? Did any of them have an epidemic skin aging?
We need to look at the whole spectrum, not just isolate one wavelength as all the mainstream studies have done.
Here's what's happening:
Fluorescent Bulbs: Adoption started in the late 1930s, peaking around the 1970s, and gradually declining after the early 2000s as LEDs took over.
LED Lights: Significant increase after 2010, when incandescent bulbs phased out in 2012. Became the dominant artificial light for indoors, streets, and cars.
LED/LCD Screens: Gradually increased in the late 1990s, with rapid growth through the 2000s and widespread use by the 2010s.
What's the common denominator? Toxic artificial light and less sunlight.
Probably nothing 🙃
Now for some facts:
- UV is less than 10% of sunlight, and UVB is only about 10% of that UV
- Natural sunlight has over 50% red and infrared light which have regenerative effects
- These wavelengths work together - you never get UV alone in nature
- Red and infrared light directly combat aging through, stimulating mitochondrial function, Improving cellular water production, and supporting tissue hydration
The problem isn't UV - it's:
- Getting UV without the balancing red/infrared
- Indoor blue light exposure destroying melatonin
- Poor light environments affecting mitochondrial function
- Modern lifestyle factors (seed oils, nnEMF, etc.) making skin more fragile
- Blocking proper melanin production by wearing sunglasses or contacts
- Not getting proper eye/skin coordination for melanin response
The solution?
Get natural, balanced sunlight and/or supplemental light exposure, while building up your solar callus gradually, allowing proper melanin response through both eye and skin exposure, supporting mitochondrial function, and avoid artificial light environments that age you faster
UV is ANTIAGING in the right context.
What happens when the skin is aging?
The cells are dehydrated, mitochondrial are producing less ATP and more ROS.
Yes UV light can stimulate ROS, but we know what else does too: Blue light from indoor LEDs and tech screens
ROS causes aging because they damage DNA, proteins, peptides, and other healing/signaling molecules, and lipids like the ones cell membranes are made out of.
So with low red/IR/UV exposure and excess bluelight exposure you have:
- Too much ROS breaking shit
- Not enough ATP to provide energy for cells to detox and repair
- Cells don't have enough water.
When UV light strikes melanin, it can split water into free electrons, molecular oxygen, and molecular hydrogen, which then go to power mitochondria, getting you more ATP and less ROS.
So ask yourself this:
Is Sunlight/UV aging your skin?
Or do you never get your morning red/infrared to prime your skin because you're not outside during sunrise?
Or are you spending your days under blue light?
Or are you not getting more UV-free red/infrared at sunset?
And are you stepping into intense mid-day afternoon sun that you haven't built up a solar calus for or that isn't even appropriate for your skin type?
And are you using a high-quality red/IR panel like the Inferno or Iron Forge to supplement your lack of morning and evening sun exposure?
Are you using circadian-friendly bulbs that knock out the blue peaks, or incandescents, and filter your phones, computers and TVs?
Do the studies show that Sun is aging?
Or do they show that ISOLATED UV IN EXCESS is aging?
Ask yourself these questions and answer honestly if you desire the truth.
Steve Jobs on the most important job of a CEO
“The greatest people are self-managing. They don’t need to be managed. Once they know what to do, they’ll go figure out how to do it… What they need is a common vision, and that’s what leadership is. Leadership is having a vision, being able to articulate that so the people around you can understand it, and getting consensus on a common vision.”
Steve continues:
“We wanted people who were insanely great at what they did… and the neatest thing that happens when you get a core group ten great people is that it becomes self-policing as to who they let into that group. So I consider the most important job of someone like myself is recruiting.”
Deep in his notebooks, Leonardo da Vinci had a mind-blowing idea:
That the human body is a scale model of Earth.
And that's just the beginning — his theory will change the way you see everything… 🧵
