I want to scream. I don’t know what to write. I have no idea how words could ever describe what I’m feeling or the shock I’m in.

How… how can the funeral of someone who was killed just three hours earlier be targeted? How can a person be targeted even after death? Aren’t funerals sacred in every religion and every human tradition? How can saying goodbye to the dead turn into another massacre?

I couldn’t bear looking at the photo. Ten people were walking in the funeral of their friend and relative, and minutes later, they too were among the dead. I can’t comprehend what I saw, and I can’t find any words to explain it.

What is happening in Gaza has become beyond human comprehension. These are scenes I don’t think anyone anywhere in the world could ever imagine witnessing, yet they have become part of our daily lives. I’ve been in a state of shock for the past three hours, unable to even write a single sentence.

I’m exhausted from writing. I’m exhausted from posting. I’m exhausted from screaming into the void every single day with nothing changing. I’m exhausted from living a life where our only goal is to survive until tomorrow. Were we created just to spend every day trying to escape death?

And what breaks my heart even more is this: how has the world watched these scenes and then simply carried on as if nothing happened? How can so much death and so much suffering pass before the world’s eyes without shaking its conscience?

Indian Muslim rulers effectively abolished Sati, not the British. It was not mere discouragement either, but an outright state enforced ban.

Europeans themselves burned some 50,000 women under the pretext of witch-hunting. Niccolao Manucci (1638-1717) described the ban as follows:

“The king (Aurangzeb) issued an order that in all lands under Mogul control never again should the officials allow a woman to be burnt. This order endures to this day.”

Jean de Thévenot (1633-1677) wrote how Hindu females rejoiced when this ban was imposed:

“To conclude, the Women are happy that the Mahometans (Muslims) are become the Masters in the Indies, to deliver them from the tyranny of the Bramens (Brahmins).”

John Ovington (1653-1731) described the ground effect of this ban as follows:

“Since the Mahometans became masters of the Indies, this execrable custom is much abated, and almost laid aside, by the orders which the nabobs receive for suppressing and extinguishing it in all their provinces. And now it is very rare, except it be some Rajah's (Hindu princes) wives”

This ban was so successful that the British governor general William Bentinck himself declared in the Sati Regulation Act (1829) that:

“The practice of suttee... by a vast majority of that people throughout India the practice is not kept up, nor observed: in some extensive districts it does not exist”

Some may be argue that Sati was not stopped completely by Muslims. To such people, it may be asked: so what? How does that transfer the credit for banning Sati to the British? Throughout the entirety of the British Raj, Sati continued to be practiced and never fully disappeared.

In fact the last Sati in India was Roop Kanwar, in 1987, or 40 years after India gained independence. In August 2009, the sixty-year old widow of Nanchhu Ram Meena of Kuchar village in Sikar district, Rajasthan, attempted to immolate herself, but was thwarted by her family, the village community, and the police.

Then why this selective credit-distributioj bias towards the Europeans? The same Europeans whose deeds were as follows:

“From the early decades of the 14th century until 1650, continental Europeans executed between 200,000 and 500,000 witches, 85% or more of whom were women.”

I don’t know if anyone will even care about what I’m saying now but the truth is harsher than any person can imagine.

A large number of children in Gaza are being born with shocking deformities: open spine defects, severe heart abnormalities, missing limbs, deformed heads, and faces that look as if they were burned inside the womb. They come into the world already marked by the war before they even take their first breath.

Mothers have been inhaling rocket gases and toxic smoke for months, drinking water contaminated with explosives residue, and living on soil saturated with toxins.

I saw photos and videos myself of children in extremely difficult conditions unbearable to look at. Babies screaming in pain during their first hours of life, their tiny bodies horribly deformed. Doctors say they have never seen such cases in their entire lives, and they warn: “These deformities are unprecedented and will increase because of the pollution.”

Here, we don’t just suffer from hunger and epidemics we are giving birth to an entire broken generation from the moment they are born. We live inside a giant prison, deprived of medicine, clean food, electricity, and even the basic right to have healthy children.

Let's be precise about what you're saying here, Joe.

You're saying that the right to land is determined by the technological and economic development of the people living on it.

If a more "advanced" civilization arrives and wants it, the prior inhabitants have no legitimate claim.

This is the Doctrine of Terra Nullius. It was the legal fiction used by British colonizers in Australia to declare the continent empty and ownerless despite millions of Aboriginal people living on it for fifty thousand years.

It was deployed across Africa, the Americas, and Asia to justify the seizure of land that had been continuously inhabited, farmed, governed, and fought over for millennia.

It has been repudiated by international law. It has been repudiated by virtually every serious legal and ethical framework developed since decolonization. Colonial courts eventually found it too embarrassing to maintain.

You told me I was being moronic.

While reaching for an argument that European colonial administrators invented in the seventeenth century to make theft sound like progress.

You're also, without realizing it, making the argument that China, with a larger economy, larger population, and arguably more efficient land development per capita in certain metrics, has a legitimate territorial claim on parts of the United States if it can put the land to better use.

I assume you don't believe that.

Which means you don't actually hold the principle.

You hold the conclusion. You find the principle afterward. You discard it the moment it points somewhere you don't want to go.

Yeah that’s what everyone is worried about these days. The fear that Islam will raise energy prices, start a nuclear war, kidnap undocumented people, enact the death penalty for one race of people, cut healthcare coverage, ruin the climate, or destroy the international system established post World War II to create a more peaceful world.

Although Vande Bharat trains have a maximum speed of 160 KMPH, the average speed they achieve is just 83 KMPH as compared to 75 KMPH for a normal train.

Vande Bharat 16 coach set costs around 120 Crores as compared to a normal train with engine which costs 50 Crores.

Vande Bharat is short distance, all sitting configuration although now sleepers are being introduced on some routes.

For every Vande Bharat, we can have two normal trains, thus the capacity can be doubled at the same cost.

As Vande Bharat is capital intensive, the cost per seat is higher and thus the fare is expensive.

For a country like India, an LHB coach train is a better alternative than the fancy Vande Bharat as it gives cheaper travel options.

Travel expenses are consumables, that is the money people spend is consumed by the journey.

As it is railways is more of a social enterprise than a business enterprise.

Vande Bharat trains should be discarded and railways must return to LHB coaches as they provide higher number of seats per train set and are cheaper to own and operate. Each coach has 72 seats and trains with 24 coaches are common, while Vande Bharat has 16 coaches and adding coaches would make it more expensive.

The big advantage of Vande Bharat is that it accelerates from 0 to 100 KMPH in 52 seconds while a normal train takes 3 to 5 minutes to reach the same speed.

To make travel cheaper and at the same time comfortable, it would be better to have LHB coaches.

Normal trains will literally make your money travel farther.

1. 12- or 13-year-old Muslim boy Unaiz Khan was shot dead (point-blank head wound) in Krishna Nagar, Lucknow during a friend’s birthday party.

2. 28 years old Muslim man Aamir was killed on or around 3 March 2026 in Bhiwadi (Khairthal-Tijara district, under Chopanki police station). He was shot by cow vigilantes.

3. Roshan Khatoon, a fasting Muslim woman in Amhi village, Madhubani district (Ghoghardiha block), was allegedly beaten and humiliated by a mob after approaching the village head for justice in a dispute. She was forced to drink a mix of urine and alcohol.

4. A 65 years old Abdul Salam in Jhagarua village, Darbhanga district, Bihar (Jamalpur police station area). He was beaten to death with an iron rod after objecting to communal slurs.
