🛰️This is a huge milestone that we all waited and hoped for many years, which will lead to a new generation of products and user services at spatial and temporal resolutions never achieved before.
Soon new #HSAF products based on #MTG will be available.
On 13 Dec 2022, #MTGI1 successfully launched into space. Since then, it's been busy settling into its new home 36,000km above our planet and now, we can reveal its very FIRST image 😱
Here's the first look at the #EarthfromSpace via MTG-I1 🛰️

Early #snow in the #Alps! New #HSAF hemispheric product #H35 ESC-H captured #snowcover percentage in detail also in the #Alpine region. Compared to that of the same day in year 2021, it shows more widespread snowfall in November 2022. @eumtsat @IlmaTiede@HydroSAF
Snow cover anomalies (wrt last 10 years) for the first 3 months of 2022 as seen from #HSAF satellite 🛰️ product.
The missing snow over the Italian part of the Alps is evident (negative severe anomalies) -> #drought and #water scarcity conditions.
Positive anomalies in Turkey!
