Trump went “from solving the war within 24 hours to begging Putin to stop firing against Ukrainian power infrastructure for just one week,” said Peter Zalmayev [@zalmayev], Director of Eurasia Democracy, arguing the ceasefire holds little tangible value as Russia has already violated it with continued strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure – a situation far short of President Trump’s pledge to put a swift end to the fighting. @MooseLEOPARD@TheLongFormRw i am a Russian speaker from the Donbass. there was none of what you are describing - it's a completely made up story and for you to paint parallels with the Congo is shameful, deceitful and disrespectful of the victims

#AlaskaSummit | There were big team of delegations on both sides and the summit was not only to discuss #UkraineWar: @fredweir3@zalmayev: You can never underestimate dictators fixation with their ideals. #Putin sees the war going his way. His goal remains clear that he wants control of #Kyiv
@JohnByrnes13: #Russia is in need of a stable western border
@edwardpjoseph: Trump is a terrible negotiator. He loves the attention

Peter Zalmayev: The effects of Russia and Ukraine war are global. Borders of a lot of countries in Africa were drawn arbitrarily by ormer colonial powers. Imagine the pandora's box that would be open as a result

Peter Zalmayev: When the war started, 6-7 million Ukrainians, mostly children and women, left Ukraine. Most men of draftable age from 18-61 are not allowed to leave unless for special reasons. The bulk of those, up to 4-5M, remain outside of Ukraine. The war is still very much far from over. The destruction continues. Our cities are under constant bombardment by ballistic missiles and drones. Our enemy has ratcheted its production of drones to a point where it can launch up to 700 drones in one night.
