Two brothers are risking their lives to protect a cat shelter in northern Gaza City | @AnimalFriendsAF
Tamer Skaik, 37, and 36-year-old Samer Skaik have refused to abandon their cats and move south following a warning from Israel to evacuate the area late last week.
"[I want to make a] pledge in front of the whole world to stay with our cats and to continue taking care of them, and either we all live or our fate is death," the brothers told 10 News First.
With no reprieve in sight, the Animal Friends Shelter in Gaza is struggling to cope as Israel ramps up its offensive against Hamas.

We are saddened the hear the heartbreaking news about sister Sabina Nessa. We pray Allah (swt) grants her family peace and justice and grants her the highest rank of Jannah. Indeed to Allah we belong, and to Him we return.
Three lads who were brilliant all summer had the courage to step up & take a pen when the stakes were high. They deserve support & backing not the vile racist abuse they’ve had since last night. If you abuse anyone on social media you’re not an @England fan and we don’t want you.
