The fastest way to level up is to find somebody 6-12 months ahead of you in the game and compete with them, they might not even know you exist but you copy what they do, improve on it and over take them and then pick a new competitor for your unwitting game until there is nobody.
We're about to enter a period where not reading or writing becomes as ubiquitous as smoking once was. We can hope people will eventually realize this is bad for them, as they did with smoking. But this is far from certain; the cost may not be as obvious.
things will workout syndrome: you spend your whole life believing & thinking things will work out without putting the required level of madness & grit until it’s 30 years later & you realize you’re like that average unc in the streets who’s only job is to smoke & argue politics.
whatever you’re working on, no matter how exciting/ambitious you think it is
it will probably be 2-5x less exciting when the next model drops (at least)
so you should be working on things which have 100-100x the ambition levels, the potentially batshit crazy impossible ideas
You're going to become the rich and unemployed one in your family that posts from wild places all across the world. Your friends are going to wonder how you made so much money without having to be tied down to a job.
I keep coming back to this line from The Psychology of Money:
"The ability to do what you want, when you want, with who you want, for as long as you want, is priceless. It is the highest dividend money pays."
Selling complex saas is crazy because you’re literally attempting to convince an owner that he’s been running his whole business operations completely wrong and then not only that attempting to make him purchase it and go through with it is even more insane.
Spreading goodness and positivity is like filling an invisible piggy bank thats withdrawn at random times throughout your life.
You never really how or when it will boomerang back to you but it always does somehow.
If you are not thinking about your large end goal (house, car, family) at least for an hour a day. You don’t really want that shit.
The end goal should be repeated and played out in your head NUMEROUS times before reality starts to catch up to your vision.
WFH days are WILDLY more productive than office days
can make twice as many calls when I’m not unconsciously matching the pace of everyone around me
makes people feel uncomfortable
visibly outworking the room makes you stand out more than underworking it makes you fit in
Inherently people want to be led by a strong leader with a crystal clear vision. With enough conviction and belief, assuming the close will put up numbers in practice.
you'd never ask a girl "would you be open to possibly going on a date sometime?"
so WHY do it with your prospects?
"would you uh... be open to a call sometime, sire?"
grab your balls and take the lead
"I have wednesday at 10, I can send the invite now."
ASSUME the close
