It was a special morning! We’re proud to be a part of such a progressive OHT. Looking forward to continued collaboration with our healthcare Partners to build a stronger health system that works for all.
Where should you begin with your health?
The #OpenDoorProgram values #preventativehealth- we’re there to support, provide quality services and educate our local communities on the importance of health and wellness.
Come by and speak with one of our nurses!
There was no mention in the federal budget, of accessibility targets for the $8.8B for new housing. Yet housing inaccessibility in Canada is in crisis and disabled folks must not be denied their #Right2Housing in this major initiative 2/ https://t.co/vq0gC5hovR via @torontostar
@mlanelson @perrin_meghan Thank you, @mlanelson! Wouldn’t have been possible without people like you who supported me as I attempted to balance work and school! I still remember telling you I had applied the first time we met at @marchofdimescda!
I am still looking for older adults who are 55+ to speak to us about the home-care, long-term care, or retirement home systems in ON, specifically people's preferences for them and their current context. To participate or for further info, email me: [email protected]#LTC
Are you a #disabled adult in Toronto hoping to get a #Covid19 vaccine? The city is running two clinics solely for you! Get details/make bookings here: https://t.co/5YEdQ9IzBA
So we got a temporary program for only 3 days, which is not part of labour laws ie likely very hard for workers to actually make employers enact if they need it.
This is not permanent, universal, accessible, adequate paid sick days legislation.

#BREAKING: Ontario government to announce a #PaidSickDays plan at 3:15pm today.
Remember the list of what’s effective:
✅ Universal (employer delivered)
✅ Fully paid without interruption
✅ Permanent
✅ Adequate in number
✅ Free of barriers
This is the gold standard.
#BREAKING: The Ontario government has once again voted against #PaidSickDays.
In total, our government has now voted against paid sick days 21 times since the start of the #COVID19 pandemic.
If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention.
Testing volume is very low. Test positivity is very high.
Therefore, case counts are virtually impossible to interpret.
ICU admissions are still increasing.
Overall this is still a very worrisome picture.
A 13-year old girl died in a 2-bedroom apartment of essential workers who feared she'd be sent to a hospital far from them because the city's ONLY hospital was full.
I don't know whether I'm more angry or sad. We shouldn't have lost Emily Victoria Vegas
