Thought for the day
Many hospitals have re-instated mask wearing as covid cases & hospitalisations rise in the UK. Lots of in-person medical conferences happening currently. Surely it is sensible to advise mask wearing at conferences as well?
My 70yo dad finally got a stretcher to lie on at 1am having been in ED 15hrs with a life-threatening complication of chemo with delays in treatment.Harm to patients & moral injury to staff.I feel desperate with this situation. #saveournhs@sajidjavid@RCEMPolicyVP@boltonnhsft
Insights from being a patient:
I noted many HCPs judged my reported pain against
A) other pts (‘but pts usually aren’t in this much pain after this operation’) and
B) how much analgesia that *should* have fixed my pain (‘but most pts aren’t in this much pain after 20mg oramorph’)
I am so so tired of uncertainty and errors in pay. We need a central employer so we can lead financially stable adult lives, I would say financial safety is a pretty basic need.
👇complete lunacy @sajidjavid@RishiSunak . Punitive pension taxation literally pushing most experienced to early retirement, leaving NHS & reducing hours
You really need to start listening to the experts on this, before its too late- #taxunregistered (like judges)

This isn’t about changing history or tradition.
It’s about making people feel that Cricket is a game for them, being more inclusive, more welcoming to a sport which, quite frankly, needs to.
I’m not sorry if you can’t understand this, you just aren’t part of the future.✌️🏏
The police have today concluded that the PM, the Chancellor and the PM’s wife all attended illegal parties, that breached Covid laws written by the PM. This is most serious for Boris Johnson of the three of them, because it was he who told MPs on 8 December…
We’ve changed the rules on passing, and the positioning of, people cycling. When travelling at up to 30 mph, leave at least 1.5 metres when overtaking people who cycle, and give more space at higher speeds.
Check the changes, let’s keep each other safe. #HighwayCode
Thank you @AnnelieseDodds and @wesstreeting for listening to medical professionals and women. The decision to recommend telemedicine is made permanent by the Welsh government also makes the UK government’s decision harder to justify.
@chebbes @Cheapoflurane I’ve always scanned with both, but preferentially with my left hand. That’s the way I was taught. It means I can press buttons on the machine with my dominant hand, which seemed harder!
