@OlooneyJohn A cashless society is simply a generational thing. Many young kids today are already using bank cards to pay for things. Their generation will most likely wonder how we managed with ‘paper money’ and not flinch if it goes 100% cashless
@robprogressive So matey who has a massive insurance premium to insure his brand new Range Rover and causes 12k worth of damage, his repairer only receives just over £1000 to repair - final bill.
The justification of this is the repairer receives the same amount for small work also
@robprogressive And in many cases, insurance companies work on an ‘avarage repair cost’ with repairers. In other words, they give the repairer a fixed sum, a little over £1000 to repair whatever the damage is, large or small
@AllenKimber1 @DonnaDlm71 Exactly! They should all read the book ‘ordanary men’ based off a report how an ordanary police force carried out atrocities in WWII by just following orders
@AnotherMagaUser @Jenny_1884@RedCross Same in Australia after the wildfires. They were quick enough to set up a wildfire fund only to discover later on that the monies donated actually went into their pot and not to be used specifically for the victims
@interesting_aIl Our barn has a state roof and it’s older than America. Granted it now looks like something out of an old Disney movie but still standing! Just
@muserL12@fieryseahorse@BubblyIan@Rod__Mason So leave the ECHR for one possible outcome, but also opening ourselves up for every other type of protection being then up for grabs.
@BlackPanthaaYT This is because of the EU legislation for pedestrian safety standards and not just a UK thing. All that plastic on the from of modern cars; bumpers, headlights etc, yeah that
@Frogson_Mars @Rothmus I didn’t have a tv and had a licence guy knock on my door. He wanted me to prove I didn’t have a tv to warrant not having a licence as it was unusual. Asked him if he wanted to look for the aircraft I didn’t have as I also didn’t have a pilots licence. Wanker
@richardVB70@WayneNewark@Zero_4 My Australian wife has to pay the NHS up front to cover her visa, then, when she works, she also pays NI, essentially paying twice
@AyoCaesar Just paid short of £150 for a 23 hour train journey from NSW to Melbourne Vic in Aus first class seat reserved RETURN. Two weeks ago paid £100 for a 2 hour ride from Exeter to Paddington standard ticket one way
@LeilaniDowding Applying for my Australian wife on a spouse visa. She can’t draw benefits (fair enough) have to pay over 3k up front for the NHS for 2.5 years and then has to pay NI if she got a job so effectively paying for the NHS twice
@FrancisRoyCA@RevivedThoughts@Acts17David The majority of vehicles manufactured in the last few decades ultalize the unibody structure, and most of those can all manage to look ok
