Dear Nigerian nurses in the UK, I think it's time we speak up about this. See the story below👇🏽
I worked in two different hospitals in Nigeria and passed the exams I needed to do to work in the UK, including the CBT – computer-based test – which I did at Yunnik. I studied hard for this test.
No concerns were raised about my performance in the CBT by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) while I was in Nigeria and I travelled to the UK after undergoing a series of interviews, criminal checks, health checks, work and school tests.
I sat and passed the OSCE – objective structured clinical examination – after arriving in the UK. This is another requirement needed to practise as a nurse here. In the autumn of last year, NMC contacted me raising concerns about fraud at Yunnik test centre, which they said they were going to investigate. I was accused of using a proxy to sit the test there because of the quick time I completed the test in. I deny this. I believe that what is happening to us is a witch-hunt.
I sat the test again in the UK and passed it in a similar time but NMC said they are questioning my integrity even though I completed the test in similar times in Nigeria and UK. Nobody from NMC has ever worked with me and I have provided good character references from my line manager and university lecturers in Nigeria.
I don’t sleep at night. My pillows are always wet with crying. This feels like the end of my world because I have had to give up on all my dreams I worked so hard to achieve to get a better life for myself and my family. I am now a miserable person with a broken spirit and I am about to have the word “criminal” added to my name. My dream of being an international nurse able to work anywhere in the world has been shattered.

I prayed about pain in my back and few seconds later @nathanielblow talked about healing for back pain.He said “they call you sisi”. Omo na me oh! I knelt to pray with pain and stood up without pain. Praise God 🙌🏾 my healing is complete in Jesus name.

How long do you expect your customers to endure this RUBBISH?!
It's no news that Nurses are underpaid, overworked, overused and bullied to mention a few, now forcing them to stay where they're not appreciated is a wicked act by NMCN. Now it's affecting even those abroad that they're forced to come back to Nigeria. This is pure wickedness.
If you think because you’ve successfully migrated out of Nigeria as a Nurse, therefore the current NMCN verification issues doesn’t concern you… I’m happy to blow it to you that,,,, you’re a JOKE…
NMCN’s wickedness gets renewed day in day out!!!
Majority of the high paying countries for Nurses, require VERIFICATION OF LICENSURE …
Even if you have no plans of migrating to another country from where you currently are, they can come up with other policies that can affect Nigerian Nurses in Diaspora!!!
This is why WE ALL NEED TO COME TOGETHER and tackle this madness!!!
Stop discouraging those giving Nurses a voice!!!! & a platform to fight!!! JOIN THEM!!
It’s not enough to create Nursing associations abroad that only cater for end of the year parties! You have the platform! Use it to support Nurses back home.
Anyone that tries to water down the efforts currently being put in place by some Nigerian Nurses should be dragged, until they’re too embarrassed to keep their accounts.
Everybody must unite to fight this injustice!
NMCN will not increase the pay of Nurses
NMCN will not improve the welfare of Nurses
NMCN will not improve the working conditions of Nurses.
Many Nurses are already find it hard getting jobs and end up running multiple jobs and hustles.
Some families had money enough to raise and train ONE NURSE with the hope that they can take care of the family in return.
Now, allow them to go abroad to live a better life for themselves and their families. NMCN says no, infringing the basic human rights of humans to migrate and travel. You won’t let them leave, you won’t let them die either. And everyone should be quiet? I say hell NO!
The only place where this level of wickedness can be experienced is in hell fire.
The devil must be a Nigerian. I believe it now. The manual for surviving Nigeria is probably somewhere in hell.
When you get something you’ve worked hard for or been looking forward to, make sure you celebrate it. And celebrate well because your brain will try to trick you into believing it isn’t a big deal. But it is. You set a goal & achieved it. It is wonderful. Celebrate well.
Proof of life, thou life is lifing now😫
I sincerely need a Mac laptop for my Ai Web tools , keeping my fingers crossed that i will get it 🤞
