@sheebadigeebies Yes, then instead of the blowhard talking about how great child-free living is, he'll be the blowhard pontificating about fatherhood. Maybe he'll write a book about it because he'll be a self-proclaimed parenting expert.
@MarkovitzHarry@SalsaTekila It's a popular topic today because Seth Rogen is trending on X for insisting, for the hundredth time, that he's, like, "Really, really happy not having kids. No, really - please believe me! I get to smoke pot, like, a lot, and there's nothing more to life than that!"
@ANSR42@comma_ai Comma doesn’t compare to FSD though - ira much worse. I pay for two subscriptions, one for each Tesla. My Tesla insurance is super low because my safety score is high, so that offsets it.
@Duderichy Such a materialistic, immature take. He’d still be having an existential crisis even if he hadnt “sacrificed.” He is a mere 66 and crying about his “prime years” of early 20s. If he can’t enjoy the present then he wouldn’t have enjoyed his life regardless.
@Bullsvikes23@Teslaconomics My Tesla insurance is super cheap and getting cheaper based on my driving record (heavy use of FSD). Not available in all states, I think, but the price is unbeatable where it’s available.
@KhaliiThre73981@adamscrabble So maybe one additional stop there and another on the way back? What seems much rougher on long drives is a car that doesn’t drive for you.
@Grummz Rachet & Clank and the Spider-Man games have a lot of linearity and hand-holding too. It can be frustrating because you just want to let loose.
@KaFi2027@Clicheplant@pepemoonboy I personally don't have any agenda about this and don't make it a habit of telling people to have kids. I had a kid at age 45 and he's the best thing in the world. I would not change it for all the travel or late nights or whatever else childless people get up to. I want more!
@joelpollak If we took a candid pic of you on the train, you’d have the same sad face. I’ve lived in different metro areas and people tend to have a neutral face. Don’t take public transit if you want smiles.
@Hybridathlete I keep seeing this strawman that we all think it entails letting the kid cry for hours. No, we understand it! We read the books and watched the videos. We just don’t like it and don’t think it’s particularly good for the baby.
@snarktasticgirl No, we totally get it. We prefer to keep our babies close and be there to comfort their little souls. I personally don’t think the “teach them to rely on themselves for soothing” approach is healthy, but we can agree to disagree.
@quintendf@libbybrittain Our baby slept with either dad or mom. No regrets. “Teach the baby to self-sooth” has all the markings of something we’ll later realize was complete nonsense.
