@patrickjdwyer@skhetpal Where are you getting this data from? I’ve seen this mentioned before but have also seen managers consistently beat the market.
@Ashkashhhhhh@unusual_whales Anecdotally most people I know own LG and Samsung appliances now. You mention a lot has hurt them. I’m curious, which of insane regulations has hurt them the most? Can you give me one specific example? Don’t all appliance companies get hurt equally by sky high energy prices?
@roseyx8@JesseTinsley@EpsilonTheory Case study: Look at Apple, Microsoft, Google, Dell, Starbucks annualized return when founder ran and successor ran. Data should be self explanatory
@roseyx8@JesseTinsley@EpsilonTheory This is pretty obvious. Earnings growth and new leadership. Read the research by Cressent asset manager on founder led performance. Companies ran by professional CEOs show no growth or vision outside existing status quo. Ryan is a founder. Existing eBay management are pro CEOs.
@gregoryblotnick This is so deep and incredibly wise. You are way underrated. The best book recs are other books really resonates with me. I have a similar view about idea lineage. It’s a family tree for ideas. You can clearly see how different people are influenced by their mentors.
