Quick reminder to all Christians:
Iconoclasm, which is what this is, has officially been condemned and declared a heresy by Christianity about 1200 years ago. It comes from Islam
Don't participate in or fall for this heresy of hating statues and artwork of the saints, angels, the heavens and God. That's what Muslims believe and do. Don't fall for this heresy which came from Islam
We basically cant have an open internet because of these people. Every fucking thing has automation checks on it now basically due to foreigners just build bot nets 24/7 to try and cheat shit online.
Sola scripture has never made sense in my brain.
It assumes literacy. Reading the bible is a sacrament for evangelicals, so how are illiterate people (most Christians who ever lived) supposed to receive that ‘sacrament’ other than entrusting someone else to not only read it to them, but also trust that what they’re reading is actually *scripture*.
I also don’t get how sola scripturism is supposed to survive a societal change. There hasn’t been a *real* upheaval in the entire history of Protestantism (akin to the Dark Ages or the Arab invasions).
If the social order of the world collapses (it will at some point) how will people who deny authority or a unified church of any type transmit truth across centuries of language, cultural and governmental changes? The Catholic Church is actually proven to have done this successfully in the so-called Dark Ages.
There’s hundreds of millions of Jehovahs Witnesses bibles floating around the world, and they all changed John 1:1. How are the uneducated of the cutoff expected to know that this Bible isn’t real?
I don’t want attention and to emphasize that, I’m making a video of me working out with the camera angle directed at my backside from the ground looking up and then posting it to my social media account for engagement
I’m not Canadian (obviously) but it’s hard to watch videos like this without mourning the sheer amount of cultural genocide on both sides of the border
This is a massive problem in manufacturing/the trades. Old heads will get foaming at the mouth furious that new hires don't have the same skills and abilities they have.
"This new kid's fucking worthless! He doesn't know how to do shit!"
"Yeah, chief, that why he's called an apprentice. You're supposed to be teaching him how to do all that 'shit'."
Art Deco understood that even a factory could make an architectural statement.
London’s Hoover Building, designed by Wallis, Gilbert & Partners and opened in 1933, was built as the British headquarters and factory of the Hoover Company.
Originally constructed as a manufacturing plant and offices for the Hoover Company, it was used to produce aircraft parts during World War II.
Later, it served as a supermarket and office space, and has since been converted into residential apartments.
Its monumental cream façade, towering piers, emerald-green steel windows and vivid orange detailing give it an almost theatrical design.
Look closely at the entrance: it is framed by massive, multi-faceted concrete columns adorned with red geometric accents.
Dominating the space above the open glass double doors is a massive, fan-shaped window motif resembling a stylized sunburst or wheat cluster, which alternates between emerald-green panes and bold panels of navy blue and bright red.
It almost looks as if you are entering a temple.
There was a commercial purpose behind the spectacle.
In the 1930s, a striking factory could advertise a brand to thousands passing along Western Avenue.
Hoover made its industrial identity impossible to ignore.
Why can't we make them like this anymore?
