Today we open-sourced a new project for developing behavioral experiments online. It is called Smile. Announcement of v0.1.0: https://t.co/1EsVGYMqRu... Smile has been used internally in my lab for several years and has substantially increased our productivity.
Because nothing says “ready to present” like literally wearing your findings at #CogSci2025@Huang_Ham leveled up from poster session to superhero mode! 🦸
critical innovation in the Not Letting Tech Corps Transmute Your Time Into Their Money space.
I have like 20 and will be carrying them around so accost me in real life if you'd like a sticker
I'm definitely biased bc I distinguish the existance of LLMs from the e/accs who think humanity should die out as a consequence of their existance. I think a lot of people want to argue against the latter but end up arguing against the former and being anti-science in the process
hot take but I think the slopification of art happened when art became a commodity (disney etc). art is about communication of your emotional state and internal conflicts to those around you. high quality art (miyazaki) reflects upon the world through a heartfelt lens. 🧵
Art is a form of self expression, not a job. That it's now easily accessible to people who are too busy surviving to take time to create is incredible.
@webdevMason I'm pointing out that you are the tiny elite. You're just experiencing a world you didn't previously see when it comes to first encounters with tech
@webdevMason you're just too in-network to see the network effect lol
It wasn't heavily publicized. you have to be in the loop to know that ai is decent now. Most people's idea of ai is gpt-3, if they pay attention to tech at all
matrix should modify its UI. it's annoying to interact with multiple communities with multiple channels + individual users. I (as a central node to my social network) would have gotten my friends to switch if it wasn't an experience downgrade
Id love to access the data though
