Not sure how many people realized this, but with GDPR portability, technically you can start a rival social network and encourage Twitter users to port their data over. 1/

It might also be possible to do this in a open source/community based manner like Wikipedia, but that takes much longer time to build, especially the community part. It might also be too expensive - Twitter isn’t a profitable company after all. 10/
