I might be wrong, but I am not bullish on computer use.

The models are insanely smart. But we are forcing them to watch a screen, find a button, click it, wait, and check the result. All through an interface designed for humans.

The token economics and speed are just not good.

Computer use still makes sense for legacy software with no API or agent interface. Sometimes there is no other option.

But for any sort of modern software, I think we should give agents something they can use directly: structured data, APIs, terminals, SSH, and permissioned access to the environment.

Agents can read thousands of lines of logs and parameters easily. Why make them click through Chrome?

Demand for Astra is really unprecedented. We're pulling all the levers possible to sustain the demand, but I've not seen anything like it until now and we went through very steep growth before. Priority will always be to keep excellent service for existing users, but we might have to pause new Pro subscriptions for a bit if this continues.
