For the most part, when people blame the industry after a protocol has been hacked, they are just playing the blame game.

Some of the most common complaints after a hack include:

- Not using enough fuzz/invariant tests.
- We have a shortage of auditors.
- Bug could have been caught with formal verification.
- Any codebase MUST have ∞ back-to-back audits.
- Protocols are downplaying bounty severities.
- Blackhats want to see the world burn.
- We need more education

However, it’s rarely the industry that is truly to blame.

After all, there are others in that same industry who are doing very well.

So the obvious question is, what are they doing differently?
