A Personal Reflection

Having been involved in the Allison Inquiry, I have seen firsthand the importance of giving a voice to Canadians who have suffered following COVID-19 vaccination.

What struck me most was not only the heartbreaking testimony of the vaccine-injured, but also the people who stood alongside them: witnesses, independent journalists, medical experts and advocates who were willing to speak out.

In his article "Of Wolves, Sheep and Sheepdogs", Russ Cooper draws on the analogy of wolves, sheep and sheepdogs to reflect on what he witnessed at the Inquiry. His observations raise important questions about the responsibility of those in positions of authority and the courage required of those who challenge them.

I believe we have a responsibility to listen to those who have suffered, to seek the truth and to defend the fundamental rights of Canadians, even when doing so is difficult or unpopular.

The Allison Inquiry brought together many "Sheepdogs"... people who refused to remain silent. Their willingness to stand up and speak out is a reminder of why defending individual rights and holding those in power accountable matter.

My family

After mandated COVID shots, my daughter is disabled, has cancer, and can no longer work. Her husband, a healthcare worker required to take the same shots, now needs open-heart surgery. Their children have autism.

I emailed Chairman Hawkins and Rep. Hong, and 42 GA legislators about my family on September 12.

This isn't just my family. In January, Theresa Patel, a wife and mother of seven, testified before the House Health Committee.

At 40 and otherwise healthy, she went into sudden kidney failure. The transplant nurse told her she "checked every box” yet she was denied a kidney transplant at Emory until @RepMcCormick intervened.

No hospital, university, or clinical site should hold a license, a transplant, or a diploma hostage, including for nursing and medical students who can't finish their practicum without a shot.

The Battle Hymn of the Republic speaks of dying to make men free. Georgia isn't asking our legislators to die. We're asking them to legislate to make us free from all mandates.

Why?
Every single person with a vaccine injury started out like everyone else:

- they believed in vaccines.
- they trusted that the government wasn't lying to them.
- they thought that the possible injuries were very rare and that they didn't need to worry.
- they might also have known that there was a government program to compensate them in case of injury.
- many were coerced to get the injection, to be able to keep feeding their families.

I'm very sure that none of them thought they might die or be disabled for the rest of their lives.

So, while desperately trying to regain their health, why would they have the time or energy to navigate a bureaucracy that is doing its best to ignore them?
