@SAlwadaei We thank His Majesty King Shaikh Hamad bin ´Issa Al Khalifa for releasing Naji Fateel. We believe this is a very positive use of his power to promote human rights in #Bahrain. We continue to take an interest there as we do for our other cases in Iran, Russia, China and Eritrea.

@SAlwadaei This is fantastic news. Naji Fateel was imprisoned for his nonviolent human rights work and our group has been following his case. Is there any news about the other prisoners of conscience arrested following the 2011 pro-democracy protests in #Bahrain.

Every year the #BahrainGP reminds us of the prisoners of conscience imprisoned in Jaw prison for peacefully protesting for democracy and human rights in #Bahrain like Abdulhadi AlKhawaja and Abduljalil AlSingace, their torture, and denial of appropriate health care.

Today a member of our group presented the issue of political prisoners in #Bahrain to other human rights activists in Gothenburg. We wrote to ⁦@JosepBorrellF⁩ and HM King Hamad to #FreeAlKhawaja and 11 other #PrisonersOfConscience.

Hassan Mushaima is a #PrisonerOfConscience who was imprisoned following pro-democracy protests in #Bahrain in 2011. He is among several prisoners who are being denied necessary medical attention. We call on @BahrainPMO to free him and investigate his mistreatment in custody.

We also remember #PrisonerOfConscience Zeynab Jalalian. Arrested and tortured since 2008 for her peaceful activism for #Kurdish women’s rights in #Iran. Sentenced to life imprisonment without a lawyer present at trial. The UN and Amnesty call for her to be released immediately.

This is an important statement signed by #PrisonersOfConscience in #Bahrain. While we campaign for an end to medical neglect and mistreatment in Jaw prison, all those detained for peaceful political opinions should be freed immediately.

في بيان لرموز المعارضة المعتقلين بسجن جو حول زيارة وفد المفوضية السامية لحقوق الانسان بالامم المتحدة الى البحرين هذا الاسبوع.

"ندعو المفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان ومحبي العدالة والحرية والداعمين للديمقراطية والمدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان، بأنْ لا تقتصر جهودهم النبيلة في البحرين على تحسين ظروف السجن للمعتقلين السياسيين والذين هم فعلاً محرومون من حقوق أساسية، ويتعرضون للموت البطيء الممنهج، فمن الضروري العمل على الإفراج الفوري عنهم، باعتبار أنّ اعتقالهم تم على خلفية أحداث 2011 وبدوافع سياسية، ونتيجة لممارستهم لحقوقهم الأساسية، وبناءً على محاكمات غير عادلة، ومع تعرضهم لأنواع التعذيب النفسي والجسدي.

كما نؤكد أنْ تكون قضية المعتقلين والإفراج عنهم في سياق السعي الحثيث لتعزيز الحريات السياسية وحقوق الإنسان.
