@mixxedtrash@penwhatabarb@casuallysaras She didn’t overreact?? She trashed her room, threw her bully’s words in her face, & then proceeded to befriend said bully out of pettiness & spite. Eloise had a right to be angry and hurt but that doesn’t justify the way that she treated Penelope. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
@chaoticguitar Also, watching them during their ceremony was a turning point for Eloise—I don’t think she was ready to stand up there yet. And Benedict had Anthony b/c they wanted Hazel there for Sophie & he had been Anthony’s. 3/3
@chaoticguitar Anthony had a best man b/c they needed Kate up there as MOH. Not sure why they decided not to have anyone for Polin but there was no need for anyone to be up there & it worked well having them in their own little bubble. 2/3
@chaoticguitar I’ve always wondered about these decisions too & this is what I came up with: John & Simon both had tiny ceremonies so it was unnecessary to have anyone standing with them, plus John didn’t have anyone anyway & Simon’s would’ve been Anthony, who walked Daphne down the aisle. 1/3
@Alphaz_SS_XG@tamannuhh Violet is a widow & she was having a private relationship with an also widowed Lord. There’s absolutely nothing wrong or inappropriate about what she was doing. She hid it because she was worried about how her children would react & Benedict proved that her concerns were valid.
@tamannuhh The fact that he treated his mother this way and then she gave him her grandmother’s ring for Sophie!!!! Why didn’t Colin get offered an heirloom when he got married?!
@tromluii@LaressaMTS@Wildfyrewarning@chelouracoon 3. It wasn’t “for the sake of Penelope’s feelings for Colin,” it was for COLIN’S sake, to protect him and HIS future, whether it included Penelope or not. If it was only about Penelope’s feelings, she would’ve exposed Marina the second she set her sights on him
@tromluii@LaressaMTS@Wildfyrewarning@chelouracoon 2. Marrying Phillip was undoubtedly the better choice b/c they entered into it on the same page & at least had potential for a marriage based on friendship & mutual respect. A marriage to Colin, entered under false pretenses, would’ve been toxic & rife w/ resentment & bitterness.
@Ava_dearest@Lovelightslove And Penelope was sobbing immediately after she wrote it, which definitely isn’t the emotional reaction of a person who was enjoying anything about what she did. (3)
@Ava_dearest@Lovelightslove LW was the only reason Colin & Bridgertons got out unscathed b/c of her influence over public opinion & exposure forcing Marina’s hand. If “cruelty was the point,” she would’ve written it as soon as Marina set her sights on Colin, not waited until it was the only option left. (2)
@Ava_dearest@Lovelightslove Unfortunately, going to them privately wouldn’t have fixed anything. Men couldn’t end an engagement & Colin made a public spectacle of their engagement, ensuring that everyone would assume he had been the one to compromise her when her pregnancy couldn’t be hidden anymore. (1)
@AndroidCarlisle@lalandismusic@CodezKing@notcapnamerica That isn’t what conditioned means. They don’t have to be actively taught—they see the way the men around them treat women & then internalize & model that behavior. You can’t teach boys that women are inferior & then blame women when boys don’t respond well to female authority.
@AndroidCarlisle@lalandismusic@CodezKing@notcapnamerica Has it occurred to you that they respond better to male teachers because they’re being conditioned to? Maybe rather than calling for more male teachers we should be teaching boys to respect women.
@CosmoKramer333 @ugottabillieve @theliamnissan I don’t need to explain the context because I’m not trying to defend Biden. Nowhere in any of my responses did I say anything in defense of Biden. You are, once again, trying to deflect from the actual point.
@Kanashi91795624@CosmoKramer333 @ugottabillieve @theliamnissan No, it’s completely irrelevant because it has no bearing on the subject at hand. A democrat being racist doesn’t negate a republican being racist. And last I checked, nobody is getting people fired for quoting Biden.
@CosmoKramer333 @ugottabillieve @theliamnissan ??? I said you’re projecting the politician worship onto everyone else. Bringing Biden into this isn’t the gotcha you seem to think it is. Once again, it’s whataboutism—using a counteraccusation to deflect attention from the original point/question.
