DoorDash $DASH charges restaurants a 15-30% commission on every delivery order it brings them. Toast $TOST just launched an app where that number is zero.
Toast Local is a consumer app. Diners use it to find restaurants, order pickup and delivery commission-free, book tables through Resy and Toast Tables, and collect loyalty rewards.
Marketplaces like $DASH and Uber Eats $UBER spent years recruiting restaurants one by one. $TOST already runs the POS at ~171,000 locations, and the app already books tables at 20,000+ of them.
Toast still gets paid, just indirectly. Toast Local orders run over its payment rails at its usual ~1% take rate, the same cut it earns on any card swipe, not a marketplace fee. The app also makes the marketing software restaurants already pay for more valuable.
It's a demand-generation play that feeds GPV and ARPU, not a standalone revenue line.
For the restaurant, the comparison is simple. On a $50 delivery order, $DASH's cut can run up to $15. Through Toast Local, the restaurant pays normal card processing and keeps the rest.
Early traction: weekly app downloads more than doubled last quarter.
DoorDash, for its part, is reportedly testing its own POS. Each company is now building the other's product.
Toast starts with the restaurants. DoorDash starts with the diners. The 15-30% is what's at stake.

@amitisinvesting@amitisinvesting Chamath had told so in his All In podcast few months back that every SPAC he launches will have caution for retail investors. His comment in that pod was because of majority retailer voting in his X poll to not bring any other SPAC. Happy to see he kept his word.
This Claude MCP AI Agent replaces your $200K+ Operations Teams.
I probably shouldn't be sharing the exact system for free...
while I was trying to catch Pikachu at 3am on Pokemon Go, it audited my entire business, found 12 bottlenecks, and built me 5 production-ready n8n agents
the efficiency gain is absolutely INSANE
most founders burn months hiring ops consultants who charge $500/hour just to tell you what's broken
this agentic system does their entire job in minutes
here's what happens when you deploy it:
→ runs complete business intelligence audit in 3 minutes (what takes consultants weeks)
→ identifies 12+ workflow bottlenecks killing your efficiency
→ architects custom agentic systems tailored to your business
→ builds 5+ autonomous AI agents with advanced error handling
→ creates intelligent orchestration layer syncing everything together
→ delivers complete operational transformation in under 10 minutes
the entire audit that consultants charge $50K for now happens in 10 minutes
ZERO technical knowledge needed
ZERO expensive consultants required
ZERO months of back-and-forth
just describe your current setup and watch it build your agentic empire
the math is stupid simple:
$200K ops team salary vs one-time MCP deployment
that's $16,600 saved monthly
the system includes:
- intelligent business stack analyzer
- bottleneck detection AI
- custom agentic architect
- autonomous agent builder
- complete deployment documentation
this is the exact system building 7-figure operational infrastructure
and you're getting it for free

every week you wait is 30+ hours of manual work you'll never get back
I loved being in India. My first time.
I was shocked by how normalized Indians are to poor air quality. Breathing the air is like smoking multiple cigarettes a day. Yet no one wears a mask or has air filters in their indoor environments.
The evidence shows that India would improve the health of its population more by cleaning up air quality than by curing all cancers. I am unsure why India's leaders do not make air quality a national emergency. I don't know what interests, money and power keep things the way they are but it's really bad for the entire country.
Trump's order removes birthright citizenship for children born in the US not just to undocumented parents but to "lawful" immigrants who are temporarily on a student visa, H1B/H2B visa, or business visa. So much for the pretense that the Republicans are for legal immigration.
Our country is obsessed with counting hours. Everybody asks the topper “How many hours did you study every day” now employees are being asked “how many hours do you work in a week”
It shows the socialist mindset. Your one hour is equal to my one hour in a socialist country, as we both are just labouring, we are both blue collar. Hence it becomes a standardised measure of effort. CEOs of IT labour camps can still continue counting hours, as that’s what they export. Nobody asks what did you achieve. They are in the business of maximising hours, not results.

Because I am raising concerns about the flood of unvetted illegal immigrants overwhelming American cities, the press will often characterize me as “anti-immigrant”.
As an immigrant myself, nothing could be further from the truth.
I am very much in favor of increased and expedited legal immigration for anyone who is talented, hard-working and honest.
It is bizarrely difficult and agonizingly slow to immigrate to the USA legally, but trivial and fast to enter illegally! This obviously makes no sense.
While it is trivial to enter the United States illegally, it is insanely difficult for legal immigrants to move to the United States.
This is madness! We should shut down illegal immigration and greatly increase legal immigration.
