@KnowingBetterYT@factpostnews 30 gal fuel spill is literally a 5¢ clean-up. Strike a match, toss it on the puddle, let it burn, and keep people from walking into the fire.
@RedFox297@yuriliaaa@thematthew@esjesjesj Just look at her times pre and post hrt. When she was competing as a sophomore, her times would have had her in the top 100 in the NCAA. After HRT she barely cracked the top 500. She was an elite athlete when competing as a man so it makes sense that she'd be elite as a woman.
@cloudsseu If you really cared about the environment, changing to an all vegan diet would have a significantly higher impact than using a small AC unit. So to compromise, run the AC for the 1-2 weeks a year you need it but then also go vegan for the same amount of time.
@CtLorelai@Whalesrule221 That's the point. AC is more energy efficient in a highly insulated house, since it takes much longer for the heat outside to move back in. A cheap portable AC unit in the UK would go significantly further than the same unit in Georgia or East Texas.
@Jurassic_Liz@suchnerve They get used in the South West all the time, since it's a desert, but down here in the South East they're literally useless. They're called swamp coolers not because they're used in the swamps, but because the air becomes more humid and swampy due to the evaporation.
@Jurassic_Liz@suchnerve Swamp coolers don't work well at high relative humidities since they work via evaporation. The places in Europe with low AC utilization often tend to have relatively high humidity, making swamp coolers less effective.
@_BrodyCrypto_@osmarks1@AkkadSecretary Yes you have very expensive electricity. That's why I only said that a heat pump is 3x more efficient than your standard central heating system and not 3x cheaper. Those are 2 very different claims.
@_BrodyCrypto_@osmarks1@AkkadSecretary The box you're looking at in the picture above is the head unit of a heat pump system, which can be turned into AC when it's hot outside and turned into a heater when it's cold. In terms of heating, as long as it's above -5⁰C, it's 3x more efficient than your central heating sys
@AxelDragonsword@ChristinaTasty They aren't. The British just want to complain and not do anything about it. A portable AC unit is like £200 and all they have to do is feed the hose outside the window and then cut some cardboard and use some tape to seal the open window off.
@ToniHargis@Porkchop_EXP 82% of Coloradans have AC, and the majority of those that don't live 3km above sea level. Something like 20% of western European homes have AC and more Europeans die from heat related complications than Americans die from guns.
@beffjezos The guy you supported told you point blank that this was going to happen. Idk what it is about the tech industry, but you fuckers drop like 40 IQ points once your startup succeeds.
@JoePhila1@PsalmWarfare Yes, but you need to account for purchasing power parity. 1USD in 1980 is equivalent to 4.04USD in 2025. So the median 1980 salary is the equivalent of $50,500 but the house (65k) is only $262,600.
@ERASEDWeeaboo 750 for spark plugs is insane. For those wondering, each plug will be roughly between $10-20 and you'll need 4 or 6 depending on your engine. It takes 20min or so to change them out so labor should cost roughly $100-120, meaning you should be paying under $250.
@Lexst1@Villgecrazylady 1 USD in 1986 has the purchasing power of 3USD today. That means your 24k/yr net income is almost double the median Gen Z gross income.
