@MJnanostretch Indeed - that's a bit of a red herring. IMO the risk was less about "geo" conflict and way more about "ego" conflict. It would have tarnished the reputation and disrupted funding pools for a handful of hallowed establishment virologists and agencies.

@VillanuevaPM Absolutely. Recall in the early days it was one of the most radically censored topics, even a mention would get nuked and attract an army of only-fan auto bots to delegitimize. Even if it's true the US didn't test banked blood samples, some of our allies surely did.

@R_H_Ebright The Military Games in October was always a very touchy subject. Underreported in the press and Congressional committees. Feels like there's good reason for that - officials could (and likely did) test banked blood samples for antibodies, but no one wanted that smoke.
