@Diogenes1@whippletom Fission was already good enough. The problem is that after you solve the engineering problem that still doesn't solve the politics problem when the payoff period is longer than an election cycle and voters want solutions now. Fusion will be no different.
@jamalthetenth There really should be some line markings on the floor telling people to stand back. In my experience airports which have them are way less likely to have people standing in the "forbidden zone".
@robj3d3 If you have wifi calling get a Glinet travel router and put a UK VPN on it. Then put your phone in flight mode while connected to said router and the phone can't tell it's not in the UK. I've done this many times. Note not all phones let you use wifi calling while in flight mode
@PoliticoForYou To play Devil's Advocate, the heatwave in 1976 could've been more lethal to pensioners but they only survived because they weren't a pensioner back then.
@s8mb@henrydodds Right now it's 32 degrees and 51% humidity in London. Not low enough for swamp coolers to work well but nowhere near 90%. When it gets hotter, the air can hold more water and relative humidity goes down. The UK never has high temps and high humidity at the same time.
