As of 6am today, @OCDSB had 7 unfilled teaching positions at Pinecrest PS. 3 classes were closed and the students had to stay home.
There are roughly that many teachers at the school on home assignment or leaves of absence.
It is day 322 of the toxic workplace investigation.
@JacquieAMiller It doesn't seem @OCDSB counted on this getting press
coverage and now finds itself with an troubled investigation that it cannot quietly end. The report will be scrutinized and questions will be asked.
@JacquieAMiller The Board's decision to hire a Human Rights and Equity Advisor doesn't seem to have paid the dividends hoped for. Let hope that if this hire goes through, the impact is more positive and immediate...
Another article from @OttawaCitizen today https://t.co/f8La68C21V.
The longer this goes, the more I wonder what the @OCDSB is doing while fires burn around them...
Happy New Year! More trouble @OCDSB. https://t.co/Pmx5LqaBTq
How many staff have been sent home from this school trying to deal with behavioral issues? Hopefully they are not trying to force fit third path ideology like @naya_m72 at Pinecrest.
Another week at Pinecrest...more violent confrontations between students, at least 5 staff leaving mid year (not including retirements) and no comment from @OCDSB, who were quick to tell staff @OttawaCitizen got it wrong. OCDSB Director of Ed @michLGee, welcome to your new post.
@jamiljivani As someone who knows the situation unfolding at Pinecrest in Ottawa, the only path to change is public and political pressure. The @OCDSB has made no comment publicly and are likely hoping this blows over.
Thank you Jamil for your efforts to shed light on this. I also wonder where our trustees are. I wish our Ottawa trustees like @TrusteeAziz, @LyraEvansOtt, @Jessica_Ottawa, @nilikm, @JenJennekens & @cathrynelillian were pressing for real action!
Two Ontario schools are deemed unsafe by the kids who study there and teachers who work there
Concerns are growing about a "poisoned learning and working environment"
While chaos unfolds, where is the political leadership? Why the silence?

After 48 hours & 2 press articles about Pinecrest, @OCETFO finally messaged staff. High on promises, low on results. At some point staff need to see someone is in their corner. @ETFOpresident@ETFOeducators are the Mr. Bigglesworth to @OCDSB 's Dr. Evil. #lapcat
@gnr2525 The allegations trigger suspensions before there is any corroboration. Teachers have refused to return when the allegations against them were cleared.
Rumour has it that the OSSTF was encouraging OTs to avoid postings at Pinecrest. If true, one could certainly understand why...
https://t.co/B8M8YNQbIy. Does @OCDSB not realize that staff misbehavior is not intentional or a willful challenge to the authority of Administration, but rather a reaction to their surroundings and relationships at school? ๐คฃ
Latest article from @JacquieAMiller on Pinecrest PS https://t.co/B8M8YNQbIy. @_MarkSutcliffe@OCDSB , how much are the taxpayers of Ottawa paying to have teachers sit at home? Pinecrest is probably the tip of the iceberg.
@LouSquish @sksmithedu @OCDSB Agreed - how many staff across the Board are being paid to stay home and not work while they are investigated and at what cost? Doubtful the Board will reveal how many tax dollars wasted...
The school board's Office of the Human Rights and Equity Advisor is investigating issues at Pinecrest PS https://t.co/HWf56RpZw9. This office recently reported to @sksmithedu, who is named in the article. Can @OCDSB be trusted to conduct a credible investigation of itself?
