@janeclarejones@Lyndagee49@Danish_Karen From what I’ve read, you believe the Palestinian Jews mattered less because they were a minority, what happened to Iraqi Jews can be excused because of what other Jews did, & that the whole Palestine Mandate should’ve belonged to Palestinian Arabs because they were the majority.
@janeclarejones@Lyndagee49 “Of course I have no idea about the role and responsibility of the British during the mandate. Obvs.”
Philosophers generally don’t revel in their ignorance.
Interesting question.
I think @AmnestyUK may just have become contradictory & incoherent as some parts of the organisation have been captured by gender ideology fanaticism while others stay sane, & top leadership is unable or unwilling to get a grip
@BayswaterSG@AmnestyUK Like so many I was stunned by Amnesty’s publication, which must be libel as others have said
But putting that aside, your clear & compassionate statement captured the experience & loving position of two sets of parents I know very well myself
I am happy to you support & donate
It is disgusting that @amnesty listed these organizations as hate groups. I don’t think it is a joking matter. I hope every group listed here makes this a governance nightmare for Amnesty any way they can. Their behavior is appalling and not in the ethos of the founders
Amnesty has turned into a joke of an organisation, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be held to account for publishing likely-defamatory statements about organisations that add far more to the public good than it does today.
@janeclarejones@ChelseaCes@Lyndagee49@Jebadoo2@Mr_Andrew_Fox The choice was between:
1 No state
2 A state + peace (not ethnic cleansing)
3 Gamble on war for a bigger state
The land belonged to the Ottomans then the British (& French) who tried to divide between the many indigenous groups.
Why do you think the majority should take all?
Has @amnesty completely lost the plot?
It lists @beirasplace as an "anti-rights" organisation. Beira’s Place provides support to women and girls who have survived sexual violence and abuse. It happens to have been founded and is funded by JK Rowling.

@Wattie23@MForstater It’s a rape crisis centre.
It shouldn’t bother you, and I’m sorry it does, but the fact that it does really should give you pause for thought.
@SVPhillimore They include Beira's Place in the "hate groups". Which suggests they would prefer we refuse women agency over their rape counselling rather than tell men "no". And they call "us" the hateful ones?!
So awful that Amnesty, which used to be worthy of respect, has turned into a misogynistic, homophobic, woman hating, men’s rights movement. Like Stonewall, Pink News etc, it has been taken over by TRAs & is now working actively against any org that doesn’t centre ‘trans’ rights.
@MSEPlanning@rob_marchant Indeed. Like Starmer, I think he hasn’t fully understood that gestures like this aren’t throwing them a bone but handing them a lever: ‘if you agree with x, then you must now do y’.
But then I also agree with Rob that it’s a result of his union leaders meeting last week.
“Segregation!” you say, pretending that women’s spaces are somehow a bad thing.
The thing is, you actually want to keep this alleged ‘segregation’.
You’re just angry that you’re not allowed into women’s spaces 🙄
