BREAKING: @realDonaldTrump just posted on Truth Social that the #USA🇺🇲 will be skipping the #G20 Summit hosted by #SouthAfrica🇿🇦. @POTUS cited the land confiscation bill, but that is just one of many issues we have with the @MYANC regime, including its anti-#Israel🇮🇱 blood libel.
@RealJamesWoods The Olympic Committee should be arrested for stadging a public beating of a woman by a man. That boxing event was unfair and violently cruel.
The 2024 Olympic Committee train wreck continues as it allows biologic males to complete in woman's boxing events. Males beating up females is acceptable in Olympic sports? Why, it's not a fair competition and it's absolutely wrong. Violently wrong.

I'm pleased the Senate passed my res. condemning #Eswatini's human rights record & Thulani Maseko's murder. The Eswatini gov't should heed the call to fully probe Maseko's murder, uphold human rights, & conduct meaningful dialogue on democratic reforms. https://t.co/j41yRfL0Zv

"The American Ethiopian Public Affairs Committee (AEPAC) and its affiliated diaspora organizations strongly condemn the Ethiopian government's actions in the Amhara and Oromia regions, including ongoing extrajudicial killings and the devastation caused by its poorly executed 'Urban Corridor development' project, leading to government-induced homelessness and irreparable loss of historic landmarks in Addis Ababa. While urban development could benefit the public, AEPAC is alarmed by its shortsighted planning and poor execution, resulting in widespread homelessness and the destruction of historical sites and landmarks.
The ongoing conflict instigated by the Ethiopian government against Amhara civilians, killings in the Oromia region, interference with religious rights, and imprisonment of thousands without due process have plunged the nation into turmoil. Laetitia Bader, Deputy Africa Director for Human Rights Watch, has expressed profound concern over the deliberate mass killings of civilians by Ethiopian government forces, urging Ethiopian partners, including the African Union and the UN, to take concrete steps to stop impunity. US Ambassador Ervin Massinga has also expressed alarm at reports of civilian casualties and displacements in the Oromia special zone and northern Showa zone of the Amhara region.
Given the dire conditions in Ethiopia, AEPAC urges all Ethiopians, regardless of region or ethnicity, to unite in demanding an immediate end to the war on Amhara civilians nationwide, cessation of killings in Oromia and all other regions, halt to demolitions in historic neighborhoods in Addis Ababa, and restoration of rights and reparations for the injustices faced by Addis Ababa residents. Immediate actions are also needed to provide relief for drought-stricken civilians in Afar, Amhara, and Tigray regions. #Ethiopia #Humanrights

Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC)
a) "A groundbreaking report compiled by the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) implicates federal and regional security forces in widespread constitutional breaches across the country over the past few years. The 130-page 'National Inquiry into Persons Deprived of Liberty' report delves into significant incidents from various regions, with major chapters dedicated to the prolonged conflicts in Oromia, Amhara, and Tigray.
b) "The National Inquiry investigated the patterns of human rights violations associated with deprivation of liberty in four regions, including the use of public hearings in Nazareth/Adama, Bahir Dar, Jigjiga, and Hawassa," stated Rakeb Messele, Deputy Head of the Commission. "The national inquiry is one of the most effective strategies available to human rights institutions for investigating and drawing attention to pressing human rights issues."
c) The primary obstacle has been violence resulting from attacks by organized armed groups and state responses. Additionally, torture and other forms of ill-treatment, detention of family members,
incarceration for federal crimes in state prisons, corruption among law enforcement agents, lack of accountability, and ineffective remedy and reparation mechanisms are systemic problems and barriers to the enjoyment of the right to liberty and the rights of persons deprived of liberty," reads the report.
d) The report accuses the government of two major constitutional breaches, among others. The first is the suspension of non-derogable rights.”

There are reports that YouTube is censoring human rights reporting in Ethiopia under government pressure. The AFHR calls on the media to self-police this report.
