Senior Kremlin officials reiterated on October 21 Russia’s long-standing unwillingness to engage in any meaningful peace negotiations while attempting to present Ukraine and Europe as the main obstacles to peace in Ukraine.

The US once again ceased participation in the Human Rights Council in 2025. Those who predictably condemned the withdrawal have done nothing to address US criticisms. Instead, they have chosen to tolerate and continue its dysfunction. https://t.co/3A7jouAwqx

NEW | Ukrainian officials continue to report disruptions to US assistance to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on October 19 that Ukrainian forces continue to experience disruptions to Starlink and Starshield services on various sectors of the frontline.
Zelensky noted that Starshield-enabled Ukrainian drones stop functioning at a speed of between 130 and 161 kilometers per hour, affecting the operations of Ukrainian intermediate-range drones, jet-powered drone interceptors, and frontline logistics.
Zelensky also stated that the United States supplies Ukraine with 12 Patriot ballistic missile interceptors per month and suggested the United States is delaying deliveries of Patriot interceptors purchased for Ukraine under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative.
Devastating Russian drone and missile strikes on the night of October 18 to 19 heavily damaged energy and civilian infrastructure across Ukraine — killing at least four and wounding at least 55.
Daytime Russian strikes are also inflicting significant civilian casualties.
As wars in Iran and Ukraine show, the drone revolution is here. But a global superpower will need a balanced arsenal to prevail in the conflicts to come.

AEI's Angela Stent comments on President Trump suspending Russian fuel sanctions,
“Trump’s diesel deal will do little to deliver significant or lasting price relief to the US. The main reason for the rise in gasoline prices is the war in Iran, not the Russia-Ukraine war.”

The straw poll on October 16 completely resets the race for the next United Nations Secretary General. All current candidates are opposed by at least two permanent members of the Security Council. Expect withdrawals and new candidates. Which gives the US opportunities. https://t.co/VzthFXdceZ
