Adding to this, I made a point to myself to play on a blank save file and experience unlocking all of the Chars/stages on Vanilla Melee, before moving onto 20XX hackpack. Even with Slippi nowadays, I think all new players should experience playing the game casually at least once.

This month marks 10 years since I played SSBM for the very first time (I can't remember the exact day). Had I owned a GameCube growing up, I probably would have played it a lot sooner. I didn't end up entering an event until Sept 2018, but I played a lot of Melee and P+ vs bots &
