It’s deeply satisfying to watch the narratives pushed by Mike Pompeo and Victoria Nuland completely unravel the moment they’re forced to face the hard facts laid out by Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer.
Their talking points immediately collapse under scrutiny because their bullshit rhetoric can not survive contact with reality.

A new group within the Iranian diaspora is emerging in Europe, US and Australia, but unlike anything seen among Western based expatriates.
These are monarchists pushing for a secular, ultra-nationalist regime in Iran; at any cost. Rather than aligning with Western liberal values, they find common ground with far right and neo conservative forces in the West and Israel.
They have found their voice and are finding the discipline and foot soldiers to go with it. Watch how they display eerie and uniform, paramilitary-style formations in cities like Manchester, to the exclusion and sometimes horror of other Iranians who oppose war or armed struggle and fear the rise of a new dictatorship replacing the current one.
Albert Einstein and Hannah Arendt's 1948 letter to the New York Times: They saw the creation of a Jewish ethnostate in Palestine at the expense of its indigenous Muslim and Christian population as a profound injustice and moral catastrophe.
Einstein and the other signatories explicitly compared Begin’s Herut (Freedom Party), born from the Irgun, to Nazis and Fascists, warning that their ideology of racial superiority and violent ethnic nationalism posed a grave danger to the moral and political future of the new state.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW YORK TIMES
December 2, 1948
Among the most disturbing political phenomena of our time is the emergence in the newly created State of Israel of the “Freedom Party” (Tnuat Haherut), a political party closely akin in its organization, methods, political philosophy, and social appeal to the Nazi and Fascist parties. It was formed out of the membership and following of the former Irgun Zvai Leumi, a terrorist, right-wing, chauvinist organization in Palestine.
The current visit of Menachem Begin, leader of this party, to the United States is obviously calculated to give the impression of American support for his party in the coming Israeli elections and to cement political ties with Zionist elements in the United States. Several Americans of national repute have lent their names to welcome his visit. It is inconceivable that those who oppose fascism throughout the world could condone, even by silence, the appearance of such a party in Israel.
Within the Jewish community they have preached an admixture of ultra-nationalism, religious mysticism, and racial superiority. Like other fascist parties, they have been used to break strikes, and they have encouraged demoralization among labor. In their actions they have been marked by cruelty and contempt for human life.
During the recent past, they have systematically terrorized the Arab population, attacked Jewish settlements, and sabotaged the rescue of displaced Jews from Europe.
A shocking example was their behavior in the Arab village of Deir Yassin. This village, off the main roads and surrounded by Jewish lands, had taken no part in the war and had even fought off Arab bands that wanted to use it as their base. On April 9 (1948), terrorist bands attacked this peaceful village, which was not a military objective in the fighting, killed most of its inhabitants — 240 men, women, and children — and kept a few of them alive to parade through the streets of Jerusalem.
Most of the Jewish community was horrified at the deed, and the Jewish Agency sent an apology to King Abdullah of Transjordan. But the terrorists, far from being ashamed of their act, were proud of it, widely publicized it, and invited foreign correspondents to view the corpses and the ravaged village.
The Deir Yassin incident exemplifies the character and actions of the Freedom Party. Within the Jewish community they have attempted to institute a reign of terror, have beaten up Jews who opposed them, and have, by gangster methods, terrorized the population.
It is inconceivable that those who oppose fascism throughout the world could condone, even by silence, the appearance of such a party in Israel.
The undersigned therefore take this means of publicly presenting a warning to the American people concerning a danger to be found in the Freedom Party in Israel, a danger to which the leadership of Menachem Begin gives the greatest emphasis.

🚨 To Senator Lindsey Graham… A message from the heart of Riyadh
Read this carefully, for what you are about to hear is not a flowery diplomatic statement, but the truth from the capital of decision-making that is leading the world towards a just peace:
Firstly: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not need lessons in ‘boldness’ from anyone. Remember, on 22 May 2026, Riyadh launched its historic ‘International Coalition for a Two-State Solution’ initiative, bringing together 165 nations from across the globe to endorse, recognise and support it. This is our international standing, and this is our boldness, which needs no endorsement from you.
Secondly: The entire world holds the Kingdom in the highest regard and esteem. We build our strategic relations with the East and the West, with Beijing, Moscow and Washington, and with the European Union, Britain and other influential international powers, in accordance with our national interests and our firm principles, not according to anyone’s dictates. And if you issue a statement linking the continuation of relations or threatening ‘grave repercussions’, you are thereby – in the most blatant manner – undermining the historic strategic relationship between the Kingdom and the United States. Such crude language is unbecoming of allies, and we address it only to those who are ignorant of the Kingdom’s standing and prestige.
Thirdly: Who inspired you to ask us to join the Abraham Accords as if you were doing us a favour or dictating our choices? Let us be clear with you: our position on the Palestinian cause is not a bargaining chip, and neither threats nor enticements will sway it. There will be no peace without the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. This is the position we have declared to the world, and this is the essence of our initiative, which 165 countries have rallied behind. We are on the right side of history, and international legitimacy is on our side.
Fourthly: A word of free advice… Before you threaten and make threats, take a good look at the bigger picture. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia draws its strength first from God, then from its wise leaders throughout the centuries, from the founder King Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and on to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is leading this historic transformation, alongside its loyal people and all free people of the world. Rest assured that history proves that Riyadh has never bowed down, and will not bow down today.
In conclusion: history will remember those who led the world towards a just peace, and it will remember those who gambled on the language of threats and blackmail and lost the bet. Do not misjudge the situation… again.
It is not Lebanon that is emerging as the weak link in the memorandum, but rather Israel.
Once again, Israel refuses to be bound by any regional ceasefire and wants to include clauses that allows it to turn the ceasefire into a Swiss cheese. Just as it has in Gaza and in Lebanon before, it wants to render the ceasefire void of any meaning.
So far, the Iranians are standing firm. Not just because it needs to defend its standing amongst the Axis and not appear as having betrayed them.
But also because the entire agreement won't be worth the paper it's written on if Trump even before the agreement comes into effect starts to cave to Israeli pressure.
No US Iran agreement will be useful if the United States cannot rein in Israel.
This will be a test for Trump.
America First or Israel First?
Renovation work being done on the Ezra Yaghoub synagogue in Tehran. Stones from the Rafi'-Nia synagogue, destroyed in an Israeli airstrike in early April, are being installed in the courtyard and in the synagogue's walls as a form of remembrance.

🚨I asked a senior Iranian official for comment on the current state of the Iran war negotiations. They sent the following statement:
“We are very close to reaching and signing an agreement to end the war, and today’s constructive negotiating approach has made the prospect of peace in the region highly attainable.
“We recognize that President Trump is now faced with an important political decision — one that must balance the interests of the United States, regional countries, and respect for Iran’s fundamental rights. Should this agreement ultimately be achieved, the international community will commend all negotiating parties for their role in advancing stability and peace.
“At the same time, Israel is currently undertaking its final extensive efforts and applying considerable pressure to disrupt the formation of this agreement. We hope that the U.S. administration will make its decision independently of external influence and in favor of the broader collective interests of all parties involved.”
