Message of Condolences by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah Following Fatal Accident Near Mariental

It is with profound sadness that I have learnt about the tragic head-on collision near Mariental that claimed the lives of fourteen people: eleven members of the Namibia Correctional Service, one member of the Namibian Police Force, and two civilians.

My heart goes out to the families who have lost their loved ones and to the men and women of the Namibia Correctional Service and the Namibian Police Force who are mourning their colleagues. No words can truly capture the depth of this loss.

Our nation grieves alongside you. These officers, together with the civilian victim, were part of our Namibian family, and their passing leaves a void that will not be easily filled. Their dedication and service to our country will forever be remembered with respect and gratitude.

On behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Namibia, I extend sincere condolences to the families of the deceased. Our nation also keeps in our prayers the three members of the Namibia Correctional Service who are critically injured. We wish them strength and a full recovery.

I pray that the bereaved families may find strength in this difficult time and that the souls of our fallen officers and fellow Namibians rest in eternal peace.
