Aston testing (TPC) with @1JessicaHawkins behind the wheel in the 2023 #F1 car at Zandvoort today.
Mostly constant speed running w/ drone chasing. Few filmed runs to end of the pitlane, where the team recovered the car; as they are limited to 1000km for Testing of Previous Cars.
ALPINE oficializa apelación. Miden la calle de boxes. Entienden que la longitud pudo alterar la medida de los sensores de velocidad.

How F1 battery usage changes from qualifying to race trim?
In qualifying, the lap starts with a near-full battery and ends at zero.
In the race, the goal is to end the lap at roughly the same battery state it started with.
Same tires, ~ 3.0s at Suzuka.

The Shanghai circuit should be quite battery-friendly thanks to several heavy braking zones.
But what about the long back straight?
I ran my lap optimisation model on the Chinese GP layout to estimate the 2026 energy behaviour.
Full results below. 👇

During the Australian GP weekend we saw cars losing up to ~50 km/h at the end of the straights. What actually causes that?
I ran a simplified 2026 hybrid model to explore the effect. Here are the results from the Australian GP lap.

'@F1 in no hurry to act on Bahrain/Jeddah. While obviously those races look unlikely to happen there is still time to make a decision. The cut-off is basically next weekend, as the freight is due to leave China for Bahrain, so any call has to be made before then. F2 freight due to leave this Monday from Melbourne, which is an added complication, and has to be addressed first.
The FIA has scrapped the first two team curfews at the Australian GP in light of the travel chaos triggered by the conflict in the Middle East.
In a note sent to teams, the governing body said this was: “due to force majeure and specifically ongoing travel and freight disruptions.” #F1
This is, BY FAR, the best article I've ever read on the 2026 #F1 regulations, a must-read for any fan to get started with the new season! 💡
Written by F1 commentator @GaborWeber, I was honoured to contribute to it and to review it, together with two F1 professionals 😏
Exciting read ahead: https://t.co/NlE9bA0HNx
Images of the Mercedes W17 on track at Silverstone today, where George Russell and Kimi Antonelli racked up just under 200 km during the team's filming day. #F1
Sorry to be THAT GUY, but if you want to learn what the different parts of the car are called, then you just need to download the tech regulations and look in section C3 to see what the regulation volumes are called.

I created these graphics below from the FIA render car to help with the naming conventions. It's a few months old so I haven't checked to see if any names have changed. But a quick glance, I think they are still the same names in the regs. I would highly recommend having a copy of these technical regulations to at least help guide you through this first part of the season.
Second 20 second clip has some pretty keenly revved downshifts and a quite early throttle note.
Anti-lag tech (loading the engine to spin the turbo and reduce lag) will be a thing in 2026.
The MGUH connected to turbo used to handle that with electric power. Now disalllowed.
