Excited to share our latest work on EP67, a peptide derived from C5a. By comparing its activity across human and mouse complement receptors, we uncover species-dependent differences that have important implications for translational research.

Spearheaded in our laboratory @IITKanpur by truly amazing students and fellows including Annu, Manish, Sudha, Manisankar, Ramanuj, and supported beautifully by Shachie, Nabarun, Divyanshu, Nilanjana, Debdatta, Ashna, Calvin, and Ameesha !!! Congratulations to all of you !!!
Delighted to share our latest study on the activation of complement anaphylatoxin receptors, now published in PNAS!!! 1/n

We are delighted that a paper including cryo-EM structures of an anaphylatoxin receptor C5aR2 determined at our facility @IITKanpur has been featured on the cover of @MolecularCell. We congratulate all the authors and wish them more success!

When Divyanshu and Nabarun joined the lab a couple of years ago, we clicked a photograph (👈👇) with our cover page poster in the background. I whispered to them - one day, we will be clicking one with your own. And, today was that day (👉👇).

Huge congratulations to my lab family at the GPCR Biology Lab, IIT Kanpur, on their fantastic paper uncovering signaling bias at the complement anaphylatoxin receptor. What a beautiful piece of science. 🎉🎉🌟

Structure of an atypical GPCR, the complement anaphylatoxin receptor, C5aR2, involved in various inflammatory disorders, determined at our facility, is now published in @MolecularCell. It represents one of the smallest membrane protein structures determined till date by cryo-EM!
@IITKanpur In our laboratory @IITKanpur, this work was spearheaded by truly outstanding students and fellows including Divyanshu Tiwari, Annu Dalal, Sudha Mishra, Manish K. Yadav, Nabarun Roy, Manisankar Ganguly, Nilanjana Banerjee, and Ramanuj Banerjee. 6/n
A collaborative effort by an amazing team across three continents including our lab at @IITKanpur, and the labs of Profs. Osamu Nureki, U. Tokyo, Trent Woodruff, U. Queensland, Ka Young Chung, Sungkyunkwan U., Jana Selent, Pompeu Fabra U., and Asuka Inoue, U. Kyoto. 5/n
Using the C5aR2 structures as a template, we also discover and optimize the first-in-class C5aR2-selective agonist, R8Y, and determine a cryo-EM structure to elucidate the binding mechanism, subtype-selectivity, and receptor activation. 4/n
