Lord Popat the UK Ugandan Trade Envoy stated that the Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2023 violates multiple fundamental rights guaranteed under Uganda’s constitution.
The Act will not only impact the LGBT+ community it will impact the Ugandan economy.
On Monday, MPs across parties stood up for our world-class Equality Act in Parliament.
The UK Government must commit to protecting our hard-won rights. The Equality Act is effective legislation that protects us all from discrimination and harassment - including trans people 🏳️⚧️

Minister for Equalities @StuartAndrew and Hungarian MP and Chair of the Hungarian Parliament's LGBT Intergroup David Bedo MP discussed anti-LGBT laws in Hungary and the crucial work being done by the Intergroup, civil society and activists to stand up for the LGBT+ community.
It was a privilege to host Hungarian MP and Chair of the Hungarian Parliament LGBT Intergroup David Bedo. Parliamentarians cross-party met with him to show solidarity with the LGBT+ community of Hungary amidst an increasing roll-back of LGBT+ rights both in Hungary and beyond.
Officers of the APPG have written to the Minister for Women and Equalities urging a draft Bill banning conversion practices be published in April at the latest as "the safety and wellbeing of many LGBT+ people in this country depends on it".
