@LaboratoryMinds@NathanielGivens I guess assuming there IS a "when you can" moment for every car, this is true, but for a situation where one can merge efficiently both lanes need to agree on when to merge, therefore the need for a defined point (or communication, but we know how well that works)
@LaboratoryMinds@NathanielGivens This might be true for things clearly governed by laws of physics or algorithms, but here we have a bunch of stupid monkeys, which is why having a clearly defined point at which to merge brings the largest benefit as opposed to "merge when you feel like/ 'early'"
