Postdoctoral fellow. Using large datasets and remote sensing technologies to map biodiversity in northern Australia's savannas. Views are my own (she/her).
@shaunlevick giving me a rundown of our new @acecoretech#NOA + @RIEGL#VUX120 at the Territory Wildlife Park experimental burn plots. Looking forward to using this beast to map the impact of fire and feral herbivores on northern Australia's savannas @CSIRO
A number of areas providing refuge for the black-footed tree-rat have been marked for extensive land clearing in the Top End.... so as much as it pains me to take a vote away from the @savanna_glider, consider voting for this soon to be further threatened species.
Great to have some discussion on this. Inland sugar glider was one name that we considered during the taxonomic description of the species however given that much of the species’ distribution includes coastal VIC we decided it didn’t appropriately reflect the species.

We are hoping that our research will provide insight 👀 about how umbrella terms ☂️ can ‘take-away’ consumers choice 🍽️
