Today is Avani Avittam - the day the poonal (Janeu) is changed ritually.

My dad took me from the time I was 11, I now take my son.

The only difference here is, he didn't teach me the art of unbundling the new poonal (which comes tied in knots) without making an unholy mess... My son does it for me though.

Today is also the day which is proof positive to many outside TN who are convinced TN is like Germany for the Jews in 1939. Except it's not. 10's of thousands of Brahmins across TN with all visible markers (pattai, panchagajam etc) freely visit and have visited temples for decades with not even an trace of harassment.

The Brahmin hate in TN is like the "Inthi hate", performative crap put up by dumeelan politicians. On the ground, no one cares.

The biggest threat to Brahmins in TN are Brahmins. So many are clueless about basic rituals like achamnya and just show up once a year, change poonal and for a year not carry forward the way that makes a Tambram a Tambram. That's what needs to change first!

Before I left Islam, I was debating a Sudanese Christian who challenged me to name one good thing about Muhammad. Just one.

I thought: easy. We Muslims practically worship Muhammad as the greatest man who ever lived.

So I tried to recall good qualities, honesty, compassion, mercy, love, anything, any single story, and I couldn’t remember one.

So I went to Google and typed: “the qualities of the Prophet.”

Islamic websites came up, and I thought, good, now I’ll have plenty of examples for this guy.

I opened them and was stunned: even the Islamic websites offered no good qualities in the sense he’d challenged me to find.

They praised his courage in spreading Islam, his fighting of Allah’s enemies, his physical strength, and his strictness.

Not one of the qualities the man had asked for.

Even the famous mercy at Mecca, sparing the people who had supposedly persecuted him, turned out to be for strategic reasons.

And when I started digging into the Quran and the sira for myself, I found that he married a child, he took Safiyya, a Jewish woman, the same day he killed her father, her brother, and her husband, trading his companion Dihya seven other captives for her, and posting a guard by the tent in case she tried to avenge them while raping her.

He had the men of the Jewish tribe beheaded, down to boys checked for pubic hair.

He raided trade caravans and took other tribes’ treasures.

He lied and broke truces he asked for.

He slept with all of his 9 wives the same night.

He killed anyone who mocked him.

He recruited raiders with the promise of other cities’ women.

And when his own fighters hesitated to touch married captives, because their husbands were alive and watching, Muhammad told them it was fine because allah said so.

Even the pagans of Arabia had higher morality than he did.

Every one of these acts was stamped with Allah’s approval.

He even married his adopted son’s wife by divine decree.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I left Islam when I met this disgusting man, a man who turned his qualities into a religion, transmitted it to every generation of Muslims since, and made himself the ceiling of their morality.

This is the man Mamdani wants you to learn from.

In Andhra Pradesh, a family of four from Kakinada went to a bridge in Rajamahendravaram over the Godavari river.

Panchayat Raj Assistant Engineer Nookaraju, his wife Meena, their daughter Sowjanya, and Sowjanya’s 10-year-old son Reyansh reportedly jumped into the river.

The child Reyansh survived. He was rescued by fishermen. But Nookaraju, Meena, and Sowjanya died.

At first, the case appeared to be a devastating family suicide.

Then investigators found two suicide notes. One was written by Nookaraju, and the other was written by Sowjanya.

Both reportedly named the same person: Sheikh Sadiq Khan, a rifle-shooting coach.

Sowjanya in her suicide note accused Sadiq Khan of prolonged harassment, threats, blackmail, and financial extortion. She claimed that private photographs/videos were being used to threaten her.

Sowjanya alleged that Sadiq repeatedly pressured her to convert to Islam.

Sowjanya also accused Sadiq Khan of being responsible for the death of her husband, who had died earlier. She claimed that her husband had been given a poisonous substance and that his death had been made to look like a suicide.

And, Nookaraju in his suicide note said that after the death of his son-in-law, Sadiq Khan entered his widowed daughter's life by offering to help her. He then began threatening and harassing the family.

Sowjanya’s 10-year-old son Reyansh who survived, told the police that Sadiq began visiting their house frequently and that he would often physically assault his mother and demand gold and money from her.

After their deaths, Sadiq Khan reportedly went missing from Andhra Pradesh.

After a search spanning five states, Sadiq Khan was traced to Meerut, where he was arrested with assistance of the UP police.

Three lives were lost, and a 10-year-old boy was left behind to face a future without his mother, grandparents, or family. Justice must be served.

📢Andhra Pradesh🛣️

In Andhra Pradesh, we have approved ₹840.41 crore for the upgradation of the 45.09-km Buttaigudem–LND Peta and Pattiseema–Kovvur sections of NH-365BB to 2-lane with paved shoulders configuration.

The project will significantly improve connectivity to the Polavaram Irrigation Project and surrounding villages. The region is agriculturally rich, with tobacco, sugarcane and palm plantations. Improved road infrastructure will enable faster, safer and more efficient movement of agricultural produce to markets, strengthening farm-to-market linkages and supporting local livelihoods.

The upgraded highway will also enhance connectivity between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, benefiting commuters, businesses and tourists. It will provide better access to important ghats along the Godavari, which attract devotees and visitors for holy baths and trips to the Polavaram Dam.

The development of this stretch will further strengthen regional connectivity and facilitate smoother movement of pilgrims and visitors during the Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027, giving a major boost to agriculture, tourism, pilgrimage, trade and socio-economic development across the region.
