I’ve been following Terence Tao for like 20 years, and I have always been impressed by the clarity of his thinking.

This clarity stands out even more in this difficult moment, as AI labs turn mathematics into a battleground in their race for supremacy.

In this race, they risk damaging one of humanity’s highest intellectual endeavours.

Was at Manipal Hospital yesterday for a dermat checkup and heard a child crying for his mother from one of the top floors. I think she had just passed away. The cry was so shrill that the whole hospital went silent.

I genuinely don’t understand what the thought process was behind having a rave/party in a hospital. It’s just deeply insensitive. If you’ve ever had someone you love admitted and spent days going back and forth to a hospital, you’d know exactly why.
