बेंगलुरु की एक विशेष अदालत ने साल 2008 के सिलसिलेवार बम धमाकों के मामले में आरोपी ज़करिया की 15 दिनों की अंतरिम ज़मानत याचिका को नामंजूर कर दिया है.

केरल के मलप्पुरम जिले के रहने वाले ज़करिया साल 2009 से, यानी पिछले लगभग 17 वर्षों से, बिना ज़मानत के एक विचाराधीन कैदी (undertrial) के रूप में न्यायिक हिरासत में हैं.

ज़करिया ने अपनी गंभीर रूप से बीमार और बिस्तर पर पड़ी बुजुर्ग मां की देखभाल के लिए अदालत से अस्थायी रिहाई की गुहार लगाई थी.

याचिका के अनुसार, उनकी मां हाल ही में एक हादसे में घायल हो गई थीं और सर्जरी के बाद पूरी तरह दूसरों पर निर्भर हैं. बचाव पक्ष का तर्क था कि परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों की अनुपस्थिति के कारण ज़करिया ही अपनी मां की देखभाल करने के लिए एकमात्र उपलब्ध व्यक्ति हैं, हालांकि अदालत ने इस मानवीय आधार को स्वीकार नहीं किया.

Three women arrested for cooking beef in UP

Acting on a tip-off, police in UP's Kaushambi raised a house where beef was allegedly being cooked. Police said that during the operation, 4 men fled the spot, while 3 women present in the house were detained. During the search, about a kilo of of raw and another kg of cooked meat was recovered from the house. The meat sample has been sent to a lab for testing‍.

They were released after the victim came out of a coma and clarified what had happened.
