@SCanington@AcademicOut Way too late answering this! Yes totally - I was surprised how much there was to do. My only comfort is that every part of parenthood is a phase and as the kids grow up there are different issues but maybe not so physically immediate massive list!
Things that make a HUGE difference: A room dedicated to parenting @livuniHSS w/ nursing chair, baby-changing table & breast milk refrigerator.
Still remember the odyssey to find a place to express milk & storage it at Cambridge.

@rheault_m These days calendars are sooo full of meetings it’s near impossible to attend anything more unless there’s been a doodle poll followed by another doodle poll etc .... so no can image no one is attending that meeting!
@thedaleykate Same situation - 2 bedrooms. But the kids seem to always find a way around and thrive - though in our case creating a pile of mess in the process ....
@KLothPhD It’s impossible with young kids. Echoing the comments that the inability to have quality hours of work/home is making me feel inadequate. But have to remind myself that we are doing the best we can and a strategy will evolve - it’s early days and situation changing daily!
I’ve been having discussions with my advisor and lab group about actions that can be taken so that Black graduate students (and other minorities) feel safe, welcomed, and supported. Here’s what I/we have come up with so far
If we want to go back to where the NHS should be in England Hancock needs legislation @nhsbill to reinstate duty to provide, abolish purchaser provider split, commercial contracts, abolish FTs and CCGs, reinstate beds and services and stop privatising and fragmenting care.
