It explores the feelings of fear among older adults when interacting with social robots, highlighting concerns about privacy, trust, and loss of control, as well as cultural and design factors such as the “uncanny valley” effect. The study emphasizes the importance of designing robots that are emotionally and culturally sensitive and that promote participatory engagement with older adults to enhance acceptance and human-centered integration in future care systems.
