Today, we're proud to announce the future home of Port Alpha: Brownsville, Texas.
Our next-generation shipyard moves from vision to reality through a planned investment of more than $3 billion to establish one of the world's most advanced shipyards, built for software-defined shipbuilding and autonomous maritime systems.
Port Alpha is expected to generate more than $160 billion in regional economic impact for Cameron County and $264.5 billion for the State of Texas, while creating up to 10,000 direct jobs — which makes it one of the largest economic development projects in modern Texas history.
More than a shipyard, Port Alpha represents a new model for American shipbuilding — combining advanced manufacturing, software-defined production, and autonomy at unprecedented scale. We're proud to continue building in Texas.

The U.S. military confirmed that a Saronic Corsair was used in the first-of-its-kind rescue operation following the downing of a U.S. Army helicopter.
At Saronic, we build autonomous vessels to extend capability into the most demanding and dangerous environments. Knowing Corsair could play a role in helping bring our service members home safely is exactly why we build.
Proud to support the men and women of the U.S. armed forces — and grateful to the team that made it possible. 🇺🇸

Damn, they actually passed it?
Unlicensed operation of 3D printers and CNCs is now a felony in Washington?
I get that it's fashionable to hate manufacturing in some places but how many kids and FIRST robotics teams are going to end up with criminal records because of this?
FleetLab 1.0 is LIVE. Join us for the first-ever Saronic hackathon — where your code will run real autonomous boats.
We are building autonomous surface vessels from the ground up — designing hardware, software, and autonomy systems in-house and deploying them at scale. FleetLab 1.0 puts you in the middle of our work, challenging you to solve the same autonomy problems our team faces in the real world. Winning teams will watch their code deploy live on Saronic’s autonomous test vessels.
Participants will choose one of three tracks:
📍 Track 1: UI: Visualizing Autonomous Decisions
How should operators understand what an autonomous system is thinking? Design interfaces and apps that make autonomy transparent, intuitive, and mission-ready.
📍 Track 2: Autonomy + Navigation
Develop logic, modeling, or machine learning approaches that improve decision-making in dynamic maritime environments.
📍 Track 3: Machine Learning Track
Apply machine learning techniques to real autonomy-focused datasets and deployment scenarios.
Are you a Texas-based student and ready to take on the challenge? Application link in the first comment!
In 2025, we logged more than 79,000 nautical miles and over 15,000 hours of total operations with Corsair, our 24-ft ASV. Much of this was done on our own dime, operating 6 days a week at our test sites on the West Coast, East Coast, Gulf Coast, and beyond, allowing us to validate and advance our autonomy across diverse maritime environments, mission profiles, and real-world operating conditions.
Not every day is perfect by design. We stress test our systems, push our vessels to their limits, and operate in challenging scenarios because that is how gaps are identified and performance improves. Every mile logged and every hour underway informs the next software update, the next design change, and the next operational improvement. If you aren’t finding issues quickly and fixing them expeditiously, you aren’t improving.
This is how we advance maritime autonomy, fast. We build quickly, test and validate continuously, and iterate in real operating conditions so we can deliver capability that is proven, reliable, and ready to deliver to naval and maritime operators around the world.
Meet the newest member of Saronic’s family of Autonomous Surface Vessels. Bayou-born. Mission-ready. Marauder.
At 150-feet, Marauder is a medium unmanned surface vessel (MUSV) that will integrate the same proven autonomy stack used across Saronic’s existing ASVs. This new vessel has a payload capacity of 40 metric tons and is designed to travel up to 3,500 nautical miles or loiter for 30+ days, depending on the mission.

Saronic is expanding to Louisiana. To accelerate our growth into autonomous shipbuilding, we have acquired Gulf Craft – a shipbuilder on the Louisiana Gulf Coast with 60 years of experience building manned and unmanned vessels. This facility will be the prototyping & production hub for our MUSV fleet—starting with Marauder, Saronic’s 150-foot ASV. https://t.co/wRMcPPkFE1
We are proud to announce that Saronic has raised a $600 million Series C funding round led by @eladgil , quadrupling our valuation to $4 billion. This new funding round will allow us to build a next-generation shipyard, one we’re calling Port Alpha.

Congrats on the launch, @vedantnair__, @armelwtalla, and Ben!
Big news: We have raised $175M in Series B funding, putting Saronic’s valuation at $1B. Redefining maritime superiority requires the tech of tomorrow, with the resources of today - thanks to our investors, including @a16z, @8VC, @caffeinatedcap, @eladgil & @nightdragon we’re able to push our limits.
