Patents are cheaper than some journals and represent an investment not a cost.

There should be a hybrid between patents and journals to accelerate science and circumvent jealous people blocking publications for blockings sake or due to "academic heritage/affiliation" @WIPO (e.g. publish main patent/publication keep contested segments dynamical to update on author's judgement.)

Nobody can argue that the additional CO2 is natural regardless if they cause a climate change or not.

The net-zero approach is a fallacy. Only democratizable net+positive (carbon capture) energy can move the needle to pre-industrial levels leveraging fossil fuels while avoiding the energy trilemma
