How much do you actually know about your cardiovascular risk?
Four simple questions can help you think about where you stand:
• Family history
• Blood pressure
• Waist & smoking
• Breathlessness or reduced exercise tolerance
A longevity-focused assessment looks at what predicts risk before it becomes a diagnosis — not just what is already wrong.
If more than one of these feels familiar, it may be worth finding out where you actually stand.

Too little sleep ages your organs. So does too much.
A Nature study of ~500,000 people mapped sleep against 23 biological aging clocks across 17 organs (proteomics, metabolomics, MRI). Same result every time: a U-shaped curve.
Fastest aging: under 6 hours or over 8.
Slowest aging: about 6.4–7.8 hours.
Stopping eating at least 3 hours before bed can strengthen the overnight blood pressure dip linked to cardiovascular health
In a controlled study, extending the overnight fast to 13–16 hours improved overnight diastolic blood pressure dipping by 3.5% and heart-rate dipping by about 5%
Participants also had better HRV, lower nighttime cortisol, and improved glucose tolerance and acute insulin response
Weaker overnight blood pressure dipping is linked to higher cardiovascular disease risk, which is why strengthening that nighttime drop may matter

For many Sri Lankans, protein is the overlooked part of the plate.
Rice takes centre stage, while protein is often treated as a small side dish.
The result? Not enough protein, uneven intake across the day, and a missed opportunity to protect muscle as we age.
You don’t need to abandon rice & curry. You need to rebalance the plate. 🍚🥚🐟🥣

Fresh milk or powdered milk — which one is actually better? 🥛
The answer isn’t as simple as “fresh is healthier.”
Both can provide valuable nutrients, but processing, fortification, protein quality, storage, added ingredients and how they’re consumed can all influence the final nutritional picture.
So, does powdered milk lose its nutritional value?
Is fresh milk always the better choice?
And what should you look for when choosing between them?
We break down the science behind fresh milk vs. powdered milk — and what really matters for your health.

LDL cholesterol is one of the most actionable things from a blood draw.
A meta analysis of 49 randomized trials and 312,175 people found that every 39 mg/dL (1 mmol/L) reduction in LDL was associated with about 23% fewer major vascular events: heart attacks, strokes, cardiovascular death.
Nutrition can some of the heavy lifting, dropping LDL levels by 13-14% over six months by combining viscous fiber, nuts, plant protein, and plant sterols.
Medications can also serve a role.
Supercentenarians — people aged 110 and older — not only enjoy unusually long lives but they also seem to fend off diseases of old age including heart disease, dementia and cancer

JUST IN and via @Merck + @moderna_tx: A landmark moment for cancer immunotherapy. 🎯
Phase 3 INTerpath-001 is positive: the individualized mRNA neoantigen therapy intismeran (V940/mRNA-4157) + pembrolizumab significantly improved both RFS/DMFS vs pembrolizumab alone after resection of high-risk melanoma.
For years, the idea of designing a treatment around the unique mutations of each patient’s tumor seemed aspirational. Now we have the first positive Phase 3 trial (N=1137) of an individualized neoantigen therapy—and of an mRNA-based cancer therapy.
Personalized cancer vaccines are moving from promise to reality.
Now we need to see the magnitude of benefit, durability, and ultimately OS. But today is an important day for the field—and hopefully for our patients. 👏

Should you still exercise if you’re sleep deprived?
In most cases, yes. Just don’t make it your hardest workout.
A single night of insufficient sleep can worsen insulin sensitivity and increase inflammatory signaling. But studies suggest physical activity can help blunt some of those effects.
Long-term data also show that people sleeping fewer than 7 hours per night tend to have higher mortality risk, yet among people meeting physical activity guidelines, much of that excess risk appears to be attenuated.
This does not mean you can exercise your way out of chronic sleep deprivation. Sleep is still foundational. But after the occasional bad night, some movement may be one of the better things you can do, even if exercise is often the last thing you feel like doing.

Here’s what makes this different from just buying a ‘skincare set’ online: before your pack is assembled, our Skin and Longevity Physician does a brief clinical skin review — confirming the protocol actually fits your skin type, not just your stated concern. Products get customized from there.
How to increase lifespan:
– Caloric restriction alone adds ~10% lifespan
– Same calories, eaten within your active hours (12hr or 2hr window): 20% longer
– Same calories, eaten within your natural eating cycle (nighttime for nocturnal mice): 35% longer
– Scaled to humans: a potential 25-35 extra years
