A JPMorgan DEI executive emptied a full trash can into the street during the Knicks championship parade. Now she’s out of a job.
The woman seen in the now-viral video dumping a Knicks-colored trash can along New York City’s parade route has been identified as Angie Baez, a financial industry executive.
After the New York Post contacted JPMorgan Chase about the incident, the company confirmed she is no longer employed there.
Baez wasn’t the only one causing chaos in the city, fans climbed cars, trucks, and anything else they could find to celebrate.
If you are asking “Why push back against anti-datacenter efforts?” I consider it a tragedy that anti-nuclear efforts largely strangled nuclear power in the US based on vibes, and I don’t want to see that happen to AI. Public opinion matters, and it shouldn’t be ceded unchallenged.
If you are asking “Why should I support AI efforts at all?” I believe we are in the midst of a transition more vibrant than the industrial revolution. Opinions formed a couple of years ago about the uselessness of AI are no longer valid. Millions of people and organizations are getting great returns from using it, and the demand for data centers is the market responding to the value signal. That is how progress is made!
@Tcho76521726@aryehazan per se you are correct. However, are you trying to say that Stalin wasn't a communist ? I stand by my statement. Hitler was a creature of left wing language. I can't think of any issue on which one might call him right wing. He was a nationalist and socialist.
@sentdefender And for all the responses- my question displays no intimations of my views of the war. It was simply a technical question about the claimed destruction vs. what the pictre showed.
@aryehazan@Tcho76521726 In fact the Nazis were of the left. The govt just previous to them was a reactionary monarchist party. Hitler had the previous chancellor killed within a few months of taking power.
@esrtweet There was a restaurant in New York called Sammy's Romanian, whose specialty was skirt steak. It came two ways- with garlic and with extra garlic.
@Tcho76521726@shakoistsLog You state that as if it is a well known fact with RCT evidence. The only place I know with caning is Singapore and it is a very safe place with very little crime.
Richard Dawkins has long said that teaching kids they’ll burn in hell is a form of psychological child abuse, that the mental terror can do more lasting damage than some physical abuse.
He calls it indoctrination.
Yet a lot of the same people who nod along to that have zero problem scaring children with a secular version of the exact same thing, climate apocalypse.
We grew up being told the ozone hole, acid rain, and greenhouse effect were going to end life on Earth. Now it’s climate change.
Plants, animals, us, all doomed unless we changed our ways.
It was environmental sin and environmental hell, complete with literal burning. Kids were handed the burden of saving the planet. But what child is equipped to carry that?
The arguments against religious indoctrination didn’t disappear. They just got swapped for a new set of sacred fears. Attack one form of doomsday teaching and another rushes in to fill the vacuum. Same dread, same guilt, same demand for obedience, just with different priests.
@awstar11 I'm old enough to remember being the only male in my junior high school typing class. I figured it would be useful for writing papers in high school at critical in college. Everyone else in the class was preparing to be a secretary
Here is my open letter to Congressman Ro Khanna urging him do do the "right thing" and voluntarily pay the "wealth tax" that he wishes to impose on others.

How do they not feel embarrassment, constantly claiming they can end all the world's problems with some small fraction of the amount of money they spend every single year?
